No 480p and weak TATE support?
I wait... Can't support them in continuing to port further games like this.
Sorry.

Hi folks , just purchased mushi and im really enjoying it besides the few minor issues that are present. Has anyone worked on a scanlines overlay for sweetfx yet?

Why do you want scanlines on a game which has hi-res assets ?

The rotation support is really poor here .. it has all the options of the 360 version, sure, but when you rotate the desktop, the game's window just kind of crams itself in without actually resizing itself .. you have to keep your desktop at it's normal rotation and then load the game up, which isn't convinent at all.

Someone on the steam community says those who are having framerate issues can use GeDoSaTo to force it to 60fps until they patch it. Not at home so havent given it a go and never heard of GeDoSaTo so have no experience of it. Anyone used this in the past?

This is a pretty depressing precedent and makes me seriously question the future of PC shmup releases.
We've contacted GOG a few times about getting our titles on their platform
Below is an email from GOG from a week or two ago in regards to Mushihimesama. We'll be sending them some info on Monday and hopefully they'll choose to take the title. If they don't, we'll work on releasing a DRM free version via the Humble Store.

"Hi Name,

We’ve discussed Mushihime Sama internally and because we’re so close to launch we’re not sure if we’ll be able to make it for launch, especially because this will be launching around the same time as our Fall promo. We’re also not totally convinced that the game can perform so well for as as it appears to be relatively unknown outside of Japan.

Because of this what we’d like to do is to wait and see how the launch on Steam goes and then see if it makes sense for us to add the game at a later stage.

Best of luck with the Steam launch!

All the best,
Name"

I might be reading your problem wrong but have you tried changing your GPU scaling options? I had a similar issue and it turned out that the AMD CCC was giving me issues and I had to reset the scaling options for mushi to display correctly under fullscreen.

GeDosaTo is a tool created by a guy called Durante over at NeoGaf. He's responsible for the Dark Souls fix on PC and numerous other hotfixes for various games and has done a few articles for PCGamer regarding the state of certain PC ports. It's mainly a downsampling tool but has other uses. You can find it here

You'll also be able to force mushi to run at the native resolution of your monitor using this. I'm not at home right now and haven't used it for mushi but if it's anything like how I used it for other games, it's relatively straight forward to get working.

Yes, I have an AMD GPU in my laptop, but I'm not sure how to enable, disable or change GPU scaling. When I change image scaling preferences to "maintain aspect ratio" it just seems to ignore it and stretch the image out anyway.

Edit: Well I managed to get it running fullscreen in letterboxed mode, which means it's running w/o any scaling and just plopping the 1280x720 image in the center the 1366x768 screen.

(In before "AMD sucks, you suck". Yeah, I know AMD sucks. This laptop was given to me by someone. I can't replace the GPU obviously, because it's a laptop.)

GPU Scaling is not available on my MSI Laptop since it's under Displays and on a laptop the display is kind of... fixed.

I'm sure more options are available if you were to plug in an external monitor, but on the other hand, that might just make things too complicated to even deal with.

2.4 billion?! 24 million I could understand but what?

I noticed that some are already cheating the achievements (there's no way that many people got the Arrange Master cheevo), but this is just ridiculous.

Yea apparently there is an application called Steam Unlock or something that will unlock any achievement for any game you have, thus making steam achievements kinda pointless.

I only look at them just to see what challenges I have left to do

Steam Achievement Manager does it, people have been doing it for years.

As far as insane scores go, unless the game has some serious server-side validation (most games do not) people will just be able to memory edit in high scores.

thanks for the info, downloaded GeDoSaTo and it seems to change the resolution but doesnt seem to do anything with the FPS as still stuck at 55 to 56fps

edit= actually dont think its doing anything so will have to investigate.

Just tried GeDoSaTo. Works like a charm. I can't change the aspect ratio (game is at 16:9, but my monitor is 16:10. Had the same issue with Dark Souls using the same fix by Durante. Just learned to live with that). Those are the settings i'm using on my custom profile:

injectPSHash 023bb3d2
injectDelayAfterDraw true

renderResolution 2560x1440@60

presentWidth 1280
presentHeight 720
presentHz 60

forcePresentRes true

maintainAspectRatio true

scalingType lanczos

If you turn smoothing off, which just blurs the image, everything looks sharp and neat.

Did you add the game in your white list?

Just put those lines in there:

default || Mushihimesama

Then click on edit settings, click on the + sign, create a profile called "default", open it by scrolling down the list, then copy and paste those settings i posted in there. Save and start the game with GeDoSaTo running in the background.

Just out of curiosity, does VAC do anything at all to detect cheated scores?

Only if the game is VAC protected which it is not. If it where you would need to be online all the time for it to work properly. It's mostly used for online multiplayer games and not score attack style games.

Less DRM.

More F-ing BS.
The big issue is that they only allow a set amount of games per week, kind of like how Steam used to do things before they opened the floodgates to allow all the dreck in their marketplace. Because of that they need to be super selective about which titles they actually want to sell on their store. Not justifying them saying no to Cave or this game but from their perspective they already have a bunch of Shumps on their service but interestingly enough they have yet to release a new shmup this year on their service so perhaps they did not sell as well as expected?

Oh duh, thanks (I made an amalgamation with the 360 games that require to be online for score attack)

What OS are you running? Make sure you've got Visual Studio 2015 redistributable package, .NET Framework 4.5 & Visual Studio 2013 redistributable package all installed.

Mine is running 58-60fps except for times where it pauses for 1/4 of a second for no reason. CPUs are barely being hit, no idea what that is.

Same here, and each time I start it up from the folder it has forgotten about fullscreen. Everything else is correct.

Is there really no way to turn off the background wallpaper image ?
