Can you turn the music off in Gradius V??...

Post by dave4shmups »

Not that I hate it, or anything, but I when I had the game in today, I was watching the demo, and the sound effects sound awesome without the music!

If you haven't seen something like this in the options menu I really doubt that there is a cheat or an unlockable who allows you that...

Besides I don't like the Gradius V soundtrack that much. It is not really bad and it have some nice tunes like this Salamander boss theme or stage 2. I just find it's not that exciting. Even if it is from Hitoshi Sakimoto whom I really admire since his great work on the Final Fantasy Tactics soundtrack.

But no matter how bad a music sounds to me, I always have to play with the original music turned on. This is a part of the game's feeling. ;)

You can do this in Raiden DX, but I don't know of any shmup that customizable!

For some reason i actually prefer the Gradius IV soundtrack to V's... it's... jazzyier. Like grocery shopping music. It's relaxing.

Get remote.
Turn down volume.
Problem solved.

Funnily enough, when Gradius V first came out I remember people complaining that they felt the sound effects were mixed too loud in comparison to the music.
