Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Successfully beat Satan yesterday; still debating whether or not the extra 3 dark row enhances for my devil team is worth negating heart orb healing... (If I do put him on my team, I'll have 7 or 8 row enhances before the friend leader is considered).
I also rolled GZL from the director's carnival today! I don't know how to build a team around him yet, so I'm going to use him as an awoken bastet sub.
Speaking of which, I think I almost have my final sub composition for her: Perseus, 5 mechdragon fusion canopus, GZL, and marine rider.

Looks easy enough. 21 battles straight of (for the most part) tough descends capped off with a Kali with 30 million HP.guigui wrote:Well, Ultimate Arena is here, this dungeon is crazy. Who here can beat it ?

Lucky dog. I also rolled in the carnival hoping for a GZL or a Shiva. I got LZL and a second Bastet instead.cave hermit wrote: I also rolled GZL from the director's carnival today! I don't know how to build a team around him yet, so I'm going to use him as an awoken bastet sub.
That recent descended canival was a nice surprise. Being able to pick up Tengu, Wadatsumi and Gaia (sadly, Xuanzang would not drop) without bothering with their annoying conditionals is a godsend for those needing the materials.
Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Imo, you should not play Satan in your Devil Team, the Sonia Leader Skill would become less powerful. Beelzebub is a better option as discussed before.cave hermit wrote:Successfully beat Satan yesterday; still debating whether or not the extra 3 dark row enhances for my devil team is worth negating heart orb healing... Mine is dupe power : Bastet/Verdandi/Verdandi/GZL/GZL, Bastet and Verdandi being almost hypermaxed, and it wrecks a lot of content. Do not forget : if you want to kill something, use an active.
You'll have to spend some time in Endless Corridor to learn how to read the board to activate Bastet consistently though, it is not that easy.
She also has a 50% damage reduction shield on the first turn, and will attack you with 120k if you dont get her under 65% of her health. Necro, can you do it ?Jon wrote: Looks easy enough. 21 battles straight of (for the most part) tough descends capped off with a Kali with 30 million HP.![]()
I need a Tengu for AYomi, but missed the carnival ! Cannot read padx site, stupid me again.Jon wrote: That recent descended canival was a nice surprise. Im also pretty happy that the PEM will only be Evo/Enhance carnival from this friday on. Enhance carnival is awesome, and Evo really helps not spending 50 stam for high level evo mat ; hermit, this is for your ABastet subs, save your points.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
If you have any questions about GZL teams I (literally) wrote the guide on puzzleanddragonsforum.com for GZL teams (under the Team Guides / Under Construction section, but it's fairly outdated at this point) and can answer just about anything you might ask. In general, here's what you would need to know:
- GZL is a high risk high reward playstyle, since you have to be under 80% health and stay there to get his maximum power.
- GZL's best friend is going to be a 5-turn heartbreaker like Ignis Cu Chulainn (easily farmable) or Valkyrie Elize (if you're lucky enough to pull one from the REM.) You're going to want to have the ability to get rid of hearts.
- GZL teams tend to be heavily stacked with TPAs. The strongest one you're going to find is Liu Bei with his three TPAs. There are a number of double-TPAs as well.
- One specialized use for GZL teams is to stack them with skill lock resists. It's relatively easy to get 100% skill lock resist with GZL and common GZL subs.
- GZL does have enough power to tackle mythical descends, provided you can get under 80% in one turn without getting one-shotted (which is a problem because GZL teams tend to have very low HP.) This means that for some descends a max-skilled Kushinada is a virtual necessity.
- GZL is getting a boost soon so he has 2.5x attack above 80%, which should make him more viable for farming, but he's still outclassed by leads like Verdandi and the other Norns.
- Then again, it doesn't matter what you do, sometimes you're just plain going to get screwed by the RNG when you get hit by skyfall heals that take you over 80% at a bad time. The 2.5x unconditional should help with this some.
I ran GZL as my main lead for quite a while before I switched to Verdandi (for which GZL makes a very strong sub).

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Vishnu is also a good triple-TPA GZL option. Both Vishnu and Liu Bei get rid of hearts, but in different ways. Vishnu will reduce the chance of heart skyfalls while you can use a heart breaker like Elize or Cu Chulainn to get rid of heart orbs already on the board.
Another thing about Kushinadahime is that you can't awaken her all the way unless you want to unlock her Auto-Recover awakening, which doesn't play nice with GZL's leader skill. Plus, her Enhanced Attack awakening is being replaced with the new Enhanced Heart Orb awakening, which certainly won't help with skyfall heart combos. Demon Slayer, Susano no Mikoto or Awoken Susano no Mikoto (if you don't mind losing his Attacker typing) might be the better defensive option, but I imagine sometimes you need that 75% damage reduction from Kushinadahime.
---
I just max-leveled my Vishnu. I absolutely love Super King Carnival. Every time I see it in the schedule I try to time my rank-ups so I can run it 3-4 times. Now I just have to level up two more cards and I'll be able to deploy my Awoken Bastet team.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I can absolutely clear the dungeon, but there is an element of luck to what you get and only so much planning you can do--no team has an answer for everything this dungeon can throw at you, even if you had 5 of every monster in the game hypermaxed with which to build teams. As it stands, the attempts are not worth 99 stamina to me since I don't really spend magic stones anymore. I likely will never even attempt this dungeon unless they sweeten the deal, or power creep makes it more reliable.guigui wrote:Necro, can you do it ?
Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I think the ideal Ra Dragon team has an approximated 80% success rate for the arena.
Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Oh, c’mon Necro, you will not pass on the hardest dungeon this game throws at you just because of some random elements ! Think about it as tackling O&S with a Guitar Hero controller.
Tomorrow is Godfest, 3K again. I’ll roll for Liu Bei, or Osiris, and the absence of Odins which I already all have. Have 13 rolls ready.
Let’s make lists to activate Gungtroll !
Do want
-Liu Bei

-Skuld
-Any new dragon caller
-Blue Sonia
-DMeta
Do NOT want

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
All I want from Day 1 is Osiris, but no dark Kali: no pull. Day 2 is an awesome chance for wood users to get Perseus and Susano (assuming Japanese 1.0), but I'm going to stick to what I said earlier and wait for the PCGF.
EDIT: Oh, Day 2 is Japanese 2.0 instead of 1.0. Oh well; still a good chance at Perseus and Kushinadahime then.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I was a jackass and spent the majority of my stones on the directors carnival (two last minute rolls yielded Shedar and Sadalmelik
) but I will have enough for one pull on day two. As always, shooting for my white whale LKali but I would be happy with anything new.
Good luck guys, Liu Bei and DKali blessings all around.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
So it seems like the daily limited time dungeons have been reduced from happening 3 times a day to just once?
I noticed that PADX started only displaying one instance of the daily dungeon...

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I've got 11 stones left, could get 5 more from Google Play credit, and I'm tempted to drop some on the Halloween REM. Not that I need anything from there. Least of which, Halloween Kali (nice boobs, though), since I've already had LKali for months now. They're nearly the same, save for Leader Skill.
There is the Final Fantasy Collab coming up soon, but I'm not sure I actually want any of the pulls from that.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Yes, metal dungeons seem to occur only once a day now, certainly to compensate the PEM change which now gives lotta evo and enhance material.
Stoofoo, in a general way, you better roll the regular REM during godfest than special collab REM like halloween or FF. Those collab REM almost always have shotty drop rates for good cards. And a godfest precisely starts tpmorrow monday.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
The time-limited dungeons were reduced to one-per-day this weekend because the end (and start) of Daylight Saving Time can mess their scheduling up, among other things. It should return to normal tomorrow.
And yeah, rolling during regular Godfests is best, especially if you are just starting out. Special egg machines tend to have extraordinary low rates for good cards (less than ~5%). The cards in the FF Collab egg machine are pretty lackluster now compared to when they were released six or so months back in Japan. They could really use a set of ultimate evolutions to bring them closer to par. I wouldn't recommend rolling unless you're a huge Final Fantasy fan.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Congrats guigui. Pretty damned good pulls over all. I would love a Pandora, Set or Wukong to call my own. I just managed to ult. evo my Osiris last week and hes a great sub for Verdandi and Bastet (plus he just looks really cool imo.) Let me know if you get any mileage out of your Gronia because I have an evoed one at level 80 sitting in my box that's been collecting dust for months. I think you'll probably get more use out of her blue version of which I am also quite jealous.
P.S. It looks like that wonderful descended carnival is already set to return tomorrow. Grab that Tengu!

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
The REM was cleaned up a few months ago so now silver eggs are much less common and star eggs have been removed completely. There are a lot more "troll" gold eggs now, however.
Congrats on the pulls guigui; they're really nice. I'm jealous of your Osiris.
If you still run a Sonia team, then Pandora will fit right in there.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
@Guigui
Nice pulls! and yeah, I always farm KOG during increased +egg/+XP rates in normal dungeons.
__
Only pulled four times on day 2 GF (LKali chance), got 2 gold, 1 fake gold and one silver egg.
Indigo Dragon Caller, Sumire
Bleak Night, Pandora
Shadow Dragon Knight
Shining Dragon Swordsman
Pandora is of course very nice, as I already have 2 max-skilled Hanzos, Vampires and co....
Sumire is not bad either, I like her skill but don't want to build a team around her atm.
Too bad I thinned out my blue dragon fruits recently, which she used to skill-up on...
Also, I am just shy of 298575 MP for the Ra Dragon, which I really really want!!!!!11

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
After months of work I finally finished bringing my next group of teams to the point where I'm comfortable using them.
Awoken Bastet:

Everyone here is max-skilled except for Liu Bei and Verdandi; Verdandi only needs one more skill-up, but she's being difficult. Hopefully this team will enable me to tackle more difficult content, like some rushes and higher-level challenges. Liu Bei actually occupies a flex spot: I can safely take him out and not lose 100% skill-bind resist. On the sidelines, I have Kushinadahime for 75% damage reduction, Awoken Parvati for heart making and bringing the team up to 100% poison resistance, and Awoken Ceres for quickly clearing binds.
Awoken Bastet is pretty tough to play. I can comfortably make 5-6 combos every turn, which is sufficient for sweeping through most floors, but getting that 7th combo is tricky. My main problem is that I get impatient and convince myself to just wing it instead of taking the time to study the board. I have to practice more.
Verdandi's ultimate evolution will offer another precious Time Extend, so I'm looking forward to it.
Verdandi:

Not really much to write about this one as it's mostly a farming team, but it has some descend capability. Zhuge Liang will be replaced by Awoken Freyja once she makes it over to North America. The flex options are the same as above. I could replace the second Verdandi with Vishnu for even more damage, but in most cases I prefer the extra HP.
Kali:

Sun Quan's harem. Only he and the two Kali aren't max-skilled, although the ultimate Kali is just one away. This team is fun to play, but it's temporary. I will blow it up once Awoken Sakuya comes to North America. In light of that, I guess it's a moot point, but I'm also not entirely happy with this team: if I had a dark Kali, I would replace Metatron with her, and then I would replace Izanami with Holy Thunderdragon Indra. The second light Kali is kept unevolved so I can shoehorn the team into dungeons with No-Duplicate restrictions, but I'll probably evolve her all the way sooner or later.
I haven't decided what my next project will be. I have all the pieces to make a great Awoken Shiva team, but at this point I think I might be doing myself a disservice by starting a new team instead of focusing on collecting +Eggs to improve my current teams. Both the light Kali and Awoken Bastet teams could use a lot more HP, and the latter team could also use more RCV. Coming from a Beelzebub x Red Sonia team with 43,000 HP, these teams feel like glass cannons.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Oh boy, those are good teams indeed, nice work.
(I wont even react to the "Liu Bei actually occupies a flex spot" part
)
While it is true that Awoken Bastet is really powerful, I feel a little stuck with her now : cannot clear Hera Challenge Rush for instance (but I could really use the 2 Snow Globes rewards).
This certainly is because I have difficulties to trigger her multiplication effectively (and because 1st floor red Hera-Ur hits hard !). I am thinking about latent awakening her with time extends. Already have a friend that has done it, and it could add a whole 0.5 second to combo, before Verdandi uevo comes out. Which direction will you take for latent awakening your ABastet ?
P.S. I love the one-shot challenge rewards, but not more than I love the enhance carnival. 37 rolls saved :
- 16 kings
- 17 super kings
- 4 queens (gold ones)
And I consider myself not that lucky : last time I rolled more queens, plus 4 extreme fatties. Roll, people, roll !

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
For Queen's Banquet in Hera Challenge, I think having Osiris ready on the first turn will help a lot since he will guarantee you at least one wood TPA: something like this. The other difficult part of Queen's Banquet is surviving the 31,000 damage pre-emptive on the last floor; you absolutely have to use a good damage reduction skill just before finishing the previous floor so that it carries over and eats that pre-emptive.
As for latent awakenings, I honestly haven't put much thought into them yet. Among the top JP players, resistance latent awakenings were the most popular (and still might be). There were three common configurations. 1) Rainbow: Every card in the team gets a fire, water, wood, light, and dark resistance awakening, giving the entire team 5~6% damage reduction against each attribute. It doesn't seem like much, but the margin of error in end-game content is pretty small so it could make all the difference. Even if this configuration is not appealing, it's not a bad idea to give one card one of each resistance awakening so that the team is at least protected against all -100% HP gravity attacks. 2) Mono: Stack as many resistance awakenings of the same type on the team, resulting in 20~30% damage reduction against one attribute. Dark was the most popular choice here, because many end-game bosses have dark life bars and hit with attacks dealing 25~40,000 damage (e.g., Divine Queen Hera above, Scarlet, Indigo, Zaerog Infinity, Sonia Gran, etc). And 3) Some combination of the aforementioned two configurations.
I'm at least going to give one sub one of each resistance awakening, but beyond that I haven't really decided.
---
Max-skilled one Kali, now to start on the other. I look forward to the day that I can stop running Friday Mythical.

Thanks for showing me this team Aisha ! My Osiris is not ready yet, but I could mimic it and cleared Hera Rush with
ABastet / Verdandi / GZL / Kushi / Cuchulain. Only Bastet and Verdandi are plussed.
Floor 1 : Cuchu gaves 7 green orb total, look at board for 10 minutes, sweat on eyebrows, trigger 7 combos and hope for the best.
Floor 2 to 5 : sweep, no 3millions HP monsters resists the firepower of ABastet/GZL ! Regular Hera spawned on 3, but I had GZL ready to def break fatty if needed.
Floor 6 : Kushi to absorb 30k preemptive, Verdandi, sweep.
One stone, one jewel, 2 snow globe dragons for me, joy !

My current project is trying to build a team around Sumire, and even though I've got some good pieces for it (Nut, Blue Odin, etc.) I'm just finding it a very hard team to play, mostly because I just seem to get constantly orb trolled. I think I need to find one or two more good blue orb changers before I can make it work at this point.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Cleared Athena descended and Extreme king metal dragon's dungeon today (used a friend's awoken shiva active for that second one).
Still working on leveling up my awoken bastet team before using it.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Today I reached the point in the game where you understand red sonia and want it to yourself too
I take it that this is the beginner end-game?
Also I've started properly strategizing teams and swapping monsters between each attempt of a dungeon. I'm super addicted now, so it's hard to be a non-iap player
(Which is also why I have to think and get creative with the limited rares that I have)
Damn this game is THE perfect mobile game.
Gonna update padherder today and post it here so you can all admire my stupidness.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Hermit, roll roll roll the PEM these days to get enhance material, super kings for cheap.
Cagar, yes Red Sonia is good. Well, some elder players will say "whooo, Ronia is so 2012, crap", but you can still clear a good chunk of content with her, either as leader or sub, and quite easily thanks to her active.
Now if you want to roll one for yourself, I can give those general advices about magic stones :
- dont ever spend one to continue in a dungeon, at least not at low rank (I used my first stone to continue at about rank 150, Beelzebub descended). It is almost always better to just wait for stamina to replenish and try again. To support that argument, let me repeat Necro's wise sentence "there is no rush".
- dont ever spend a stone to refresh stamina, at least not at low rank, there is no rush. When you stamina bar has some 150 stamina in it, then stoning to refill becomes kind of interesting.
- spend some stones to increase box space, to keep rare cards and rare evolving materials. If you ever have a doubt about keep or throw, just ask.
- dont ever roll the Rare Egg Machine outside of godfests. Those happen about every 2 weeks, the site padx will keep you informed.
- during godfest : roll like a mad man, and feel the power of Gungho's desire sensor ! You will NOT roll a Red Sonia, but you will roll something else that will help you in 6 months.
Also, starting from rank 50, you can chose a Best Friend among your friends. This gives lots of Pal Points to both of you everyday, dont hesitate to do that, especially since the PEM now only works with 500 Pal Points, and spits out evo/enhance material weekly.
Finally, yes please, show us your box !

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Yeah, that's exactly what I've been doing!
I've had the mindset that: if it's not permanent, don't spend (magic stones). I've been sooo tempted to buy a stone or two to replenish stamina when I've been bored and had time to play, but still haven't done it!
It's like torture to be a full non-iap.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Quickly looking at your box, you have some nice elements for a quite good Devil team :
Lu Bu / Pandora / Dark Valkyrie (has to be uevoed again, hard to get material) / Chibi Ronia / Lumiel
You could farm, and skill, a vampire to add more consistent dark orbs. With a good Ronia friend, and some levels given to your monsters, you can then clear lots of contents, maybe up to King of The Gods, the main XP farming dungeon in the game.
Your Norn Urd is also a pretty solid and easy to play leader, but you lack some nice red subs to pair her with.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
Ronia paired with Lu Bu will probably always be my team of choice for farming KotG. Its only the end game and the tougher descends the she begins to falter a bit.
I cleared all Hera challenges pretty easily but the banquet was just too much. My lack of damage reduction and spike subs for Awoken Bastet or Verdandi pretty much made it a non starter from the get go. Guigui, every time you wish for green triple TPA subs take comfort in your GZL and Kushinada. I guarantee I am missing them more than you are missing Liu Bei or Vishnu.
I finally got around to evoing Awoken Isis today. I will also evo Awoken Hino Kagutsuchi on Thursday which I am pretty excited for. I remember marveling at Necro's awoken Hino like it was yesterday.
Edit: Nice box Cagar. With that line up it makes sense you want a Red Sonia. Lu Bu, Pandora, DValk and Kakkab would all play quite nicely with her.

Re: Puzzle & Dragons
I suppose I could post an update on what's up been here, well i'm currently rank 114, my Urd's reached level 99 and I am spending all the plus eggs on her to eventually "hypermax" her
Currently rolling with Urd/Sai/Dragonfire Uriel/Dino Rider Wild Drake/Cerberus Rider Jize with guigui's Verdandi most of the time as the help and in other times Necro's Awoken Tsukiyomi. I've reached Starlight Sanctuary and i'm stuck there for now, i've beat the Divine Queen (got the Hera drop), Heroes Hideout. Am I pretty much at the endgame with normal dungeons?
Perhaps i'll switch back to Technical Dungeons for time being and try to progress there (last time I played those i've made it past Windy Woods I think).
Considering swapping Sai down the road as his active's useless and he only serves as Fire/HP buff stat-wise.
