By "games I can beat" do you mean ones that you in particular have a good chance of beating in the time you're there, or just those that are theoretically beatable (as opposed to continuing indefinitely)? If the latter then it's hard to go wrong with Ghosts 'n Goblins.

Probably ones I can beat while I'm there. I'm decent at retro games; so far with the NES, I've beaten the SMB trilogy (american mario 2), Metroid, Wizards and Warriors, and Mega Man 2.

P.S. With Mario 1, I didn't use any pipes or vines (not counting the last level, where they're necessary). With mario 2, I didn't take the warp pipe in the snow level. In Mario 3, I beat EVERY SINGLE LEVEL without using a P-wing (except for part of two mini-boss fortresses).

That's more like it.

The second GNG game is raw arcade difficulty but fair enough to clear without memorization, unlike the obscure glitch/secret technique dependency in the first game. It's a nerve wracking, fast paced, manic rng hell everytime. One of the few games that makes me feel like it's a holiday every time I pick it up.

*edit*

Hmmm, they don't have it? Dunno then. I kind of recommend Rastan over GNG1 for the action platforming. GNG1 is worth a try, but don't expect to get far without some learning.

Forgotten Worlds, Dragon Spirit, 1943, Contra (vastly prefer either Contra 1 Nes or the arcade version of Super Contra, but it's still worth a shot), Black Tiger, R-Type, and Life Force are all worth the op's time. Can't say what the easiest is. Might have the best chance of clearing Contra or Forgotten Worlds, since the former is short and the latter seems pretty forgiving on the genesis/mega drive (only version I'm familliar with).

I wanted to suggest that but unfortunately I didn't see it in Wikipedia's list of games at Funspot, which is a real shame.

I would recommend Rolling Thunder. Too bad they don't have Elevator Action Returns, took me 2 day to no-miss that game.

They have sweet sit down versions of Outrun and Space Harrier that are must-plays.
Feedback will set you free.

Ghouls 'n' Ghosts is just brutally, sadistically hard though.

I recently picked up Capcom Generation 2 for Saturn. And in Ghosts 'n' Goblins I can easily get to level 5 without much trouble. But despite about 5 hours of play so far in Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, I have yet to even beat the first level ... on easy mode.

And athiestgod1999, if you can walk up to Ghosts 'n' Goblins and beat it over the course of a weekend, then you really are a god :)

Wow, complete opposite of my experience. Daimakaimura is really fair and forgiving compared to Goblins for me.

Mr.Do!, you can make 999,950 in about 25 minutes. It's the perfect game.

Actually, I didn't go because I have a bad cold. I was having second thoughts, anyway. Maybe next summer for a whole week :D

Weak
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
