ESP Ra. De. Repair Log of Sorts

Post by jcmorris »

Got a board in recently that had some damage done to the sound section at some point in its life and was producing a really bad output. I was getting inconsistent reading on my multimeter so I decided the best route to go would be to replace the entire damaged section. Heres some information on the capacitors and sound amp for any of you who may have to do the same or something similar in the future. Spoiled the pictures because some are large (and redundant  ). International Version.

Cap List
C2 - 25v47uf (This cap is located in the center of the PCB, and probably has nothing to do with sound. But because I had to replace every other electrolytic cap on the board I decided to go ahead and do this one as well as it was obvious it had suffered damage.)
C3 - 25v100uf
C4 - 16v1000uf
C5 - 16v1000uf
C6 - 25v100uf
C10 - 16v1000uf

C11 - 10 (This ceramic cap normally should not need to be replaced but mine had suffered damage)
C15 - 25v10uf
C17 - 25v22uf
C22 - 25v22uf
C28 - 16v470uf
C32 - 25v47uf
C33 - 25v47uf

LA446ON - This is the sound amp, see picture. Sanyo brand, can get them on eBay for about $15.
