I just ordered a framemeister and need to get a power supply (UK) I think the framemeister needs 5v, 2.5a, (correct connector obviously).
Will this be ok: " USB 5V Charger Cable Adapter MicomSoft Compact UpScaler XRGB-Mini FRAMEMEISTER "
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281503187537
There's one from usa that looks the same and claims "This cable/adapter works perfectly with the Micomsoft XRGB-Mini Upscaler unit (Framemeister)."
But I searched the forums here and there's no mention of using a usb power supply so am I stuck with having to use a stepdown?
This wiki ( http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php/XRGB ... r_supplies )
recommends 5v at 2.5a but when I click the link ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005 ... UTF8&psc=1 ) it goes to a 4.5v/5v at 2a power supply (amazon does this product replacement thing frequently so am worried I'll get an alternative that'll blow up my untouched framemeister). I think generally a higher amperage can be used (so 3a would be fine for a 2.5a device) but this is lower at 2a..
Please help!

Re: Framemeister powered by usb?
I found the answer here:
http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/xrgb-mini-fra ... er-supply/
Also I think regarding the usb cable thing, it really depends on the output of the supply (and maybe the wiring used inside the cable?)
eg. if you plug the usb end into a laptop usb1 port, it might only output 0.5a, and that might damage the xrgb (although all this is speculation based on my tiny bit of knowledge of usb powered hard drives).. Anyways I've ordered the the replacement power supply for the Korg KA193.
hope this helps someone else..
