I don't believe that this has an octagonal gate; should I consider that a dealbreaker, or should I go for this? I've heard the LS-58 is a superb stick, which is my primary reason for looking into this stick on Arcade Shock (along with PC/PS3/360 compatibility). I only play on PC for now, though.
All Semitsu parts, nice. That's all I use in my joystick, but I use a LS-32-02 stick.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about the gate being a deal breaker. I prefer using the stock square gate for shmups, but it's really easy to change that out if you prefer an octagonal gate.
I'd be more interested in finding out if the joystick has quick disconnects on all the buttons/joystick, just so you can easily swap in new or different parts.

Thanks for the info; I guess the square gate isn't an issue! I'm curious about that as well, but I figure this is a good jumping-off point as I dive deeper into the hobby. I'm assuming I can just plug in the USB into my laptop and be off and running with either native game inputs or Joy2Key.
