Go to a Mini-Mini (their commission is half your first month's rent, the other agencies want an entire month's) and ask them to show you what they've got. You can search for places yourself on Suumo and ask them to look them up, but sites like Suumo lag behind actual availability because agents are often slow about removing listings that have been rented.

If you don't want to deal with the usual deep anal involved in renting here, places on Hitsuji are easy to rent, generally with no key money and a low deposit. Note that they mostly list guesthouses/share houses, but there are normal mansions/apartments as well.
