Sol-Deace/Sol-Feace

Post by The Coop »

After reading through the thread about this game in another forum here, it dawned on me that I didn't recall seeing a Hi Score thread for it anywhere. So, here it is. Because there might be some subtle difference between the versions, and since not everyone has both of them at their disposal, I'm including both the cart version (Sol-Deace) and the CD version (Sol-Feace) here. Oh, and no continuing allowed.

The info needed are name, difficulty, the stage you reached, and of course, your score.

Perikles – Normal – Completed – 706,497
UGO - Normal - Completed - 694.983

Sol-Feace

Code: Select all

Name - Difficulty - Stage Reached - Score

Perikles - Normal - Completed - 695,125
LGB - Normal - Stage 3 - 53.803

Hey, this game is tough without the right weapons. Real tough. Doing a "buster run" could be difficult.

=SOL-FEACE=
LGB - Normal Rank (Mid Speed) - Stage 3 - 53.803

Maybe you could make seperate boards for the two difficulties? I know they score differently, but [imo] that gives more of an incentive to seperate them.

I found a weird little combination of weapons... maybe you could even call it "space gangsta". Ship with missiles, top gunner with normal shot, bottom gunner with twin shot.

What are the differences between Deace and Feace?

As far as I can tell, if there are any differences besides the music and cinemas (though the cart has a better and cooler ending IMHO), they are painfully minimal. So minimal, I can't find them. However, I just listed both to be on the safe side.

Wikipedia claims that Deace was a port down and Feace was not a port up (since there's only a Deace in America but a Feace in Japan, America, and Europe), so I suppose that Deace is the "clone" and not the "parent" and that the Deace board should be below the Feace board

I listed them alphabetically, not in order of parent/port.

Perikles – Normal – Completed – 706,497

Took me quite a few tries to get over 700,000 points. I usually end up with 660,000 or thereabouts so I'm quite happy with this.

Edit: Looks like the other host I used is out of business, added a working picture.

Might try to chase after a better score later on, but that'll do for now. For some reason the number of lives and the speed would not display which in turn always made me a little nervous when I lost a life. I also have to say that I like Sol-Deace's beefier soundtrack decidedly better even though it still sounds fine here. :)
