What? Are you trying to give him OCD? It looks perfect as far as CRT's are concerned.

Yeah I agree, This pic is like my 20G possible best crt geometry one can get for a sets age. Think we are spoilt these days with perfect geo lcds etc.

That is true. I just haven't had time to adjust it...
Now it's time for some Super Famicom! CPU-01. I like the higher resolution on the Mega Drive better but the CPU-01 boosts great colors and contrast. Spoiler

Sony was supposed to do this when replacing the CRT's (once they got over 30,000 hours) but I find it fairly common that they just slapped a new tube in the units without adding strips or fine tuning them all the way. Some corrections can be made in the service menus however if once side is dipping more than the other (even after the deflection block has been recapped) you may need the strips I mentioned above. Sadly I do not know where to get them anymore.
I've had this open in a tab for quite a while, meaning to write this:
Those convergence strips are the same thing Sony calls in the service manual "permalloy assemblies" right? They look like little strips you slide in the neck near the back of the tube for corner convergence.
Been trying to tweak my consumer set further since the corners and left side have pretty bad convergence with the blue gun... Do you have any info on how I can look into these or hack together some myself?

ArcadeCup.com has them in stock.
Nice, thanks a million! Hopefully they will stop my itch to adjust the yoke, since I figure I'll mess up a lot more than I'll fix doing that.
The service manual for mine (a flat KV-32FV310) says they're only used for corner convergence. There is a "Y. Magnet" on the yoke that it says to adjust for "V.BOW" geometry defects in the same section though- I forget if the service menu has an option for V.BOW but I would assume it stands for vertical bowing?
If you happen to have it in the bottom middle of the screen (like an arch where the middle is higher and the corners are lower), I've had that on all my consumer Trinitrons so far...

Yup, exactly this (27fs120) - just never have gotten back to it. I still need to reconnect everything and put the case back...
What does DL AMP, in JVC sets, refer to? From what I could tell from the various JVC (and one Sony color encoder chip on MSX.org) service manuals online it has to do with amplification of a chroma signal for NTSC or PAL.
More importantly, I believe the JVC TM-1750PN has an onscreen service menu. A forum member wants to know how to get into it to make a trapezoidal adjustment. What's the button combo?
1. Entering the Service Menu
Use the front panel keys to display the Service Menu (Fig. 1).
(1) While holding the key, press the[MENU]key.
The “ ” mark appears at the center of the screen (Fig. 2).
(2) Before the “ ” mark disappears (within 5 seconds after it
appears), hold the key and press the VOL-( ) key.
Warning message “Please don't touch!” appears on the
screen (Fig. 3).
(3) Before the warning message disappears (within 5 seconds
after it appears), press the VOL+( ) key.
The service menu items appears on the display (Fig. 4).
What key are they talking about in 1)? There's a graphic character missing there, I think.
The front panel of the tm-1750pn is visible in the brochure, here and I don't see a degauss button.
Edit: Getting more confused, since what the guy needs is trap correction, which is in the "SET-UP MENU" on the 1710CG according to this, and I don't see service menu mentioned. It's not in the 1750pn menus he's already looked through. Still looking through the PDF. Don't have a service manual for the 1750pn.

So do you think V.BOW describes the problem? I might throw up that page of the service manual later, maybe it's asking to adjust a magnet that's common and someone would know more accurately what it does.
Been through the entire <BLOCK SELECT> menu's and nothing adjusts the trapezoid, plenty of stuff in there for H and V Shifts and Zooms....
I guess I'm going to need to find a Service Manual for the TM-1750PN, where did you find your service manual? Unless I can find another keystroke combination I think this monitor doesn't have any trapezoid or pin-cushion adjustments...
I don't recall, I was using googlefu when I bought my NOS JVC monitor and found it. I couldn't tell you what I looked for other than the 'JVC <Model name> Service manual>'
