Oddly, this Rayman Origins print doesn't say anything about 60 Hz on the back (the blurb's all in English and I found some other English-worded Wii PAL boxart online mentioning 60 Hz). Mine is Australian release, isn't it? They do get 60 Hz-endowed games over there, don't they? The manual's missing, but the box says it's in English too.
The Criterion's Eisenstein "sound years" collection is, I think, in a pretty good shape for the price.

Image

Another "compulsive-purchase-while-it's-not-so-expensive" kind of get. Nicely drawn boxart I might add.

Finally this arrived.

Figured it was time to get a screen protector for the Wii U controller as well, as this is the first game I have that has heavy touchscreen use.

Puyo Puyo, Elemental Master, and Hellfire. Arle has an interesting taste in armor. Only her left breast and left shoulder are armored. In Puyo Puyo~n she gets armor that covers both sides, but is still mostly unarmored.

On that Elemental Master cartridge, the picture's framing makes it look better than full boxart.
Though having played it emulated on Wii recently, I found the overseas pic more fitting the gameplay graphics (wich looks oddly pre-rendered for its time, like the PSX Diablo port or something), if not matching the "cutscenes".

The funny thing about the Elemental Master cart is that it has both "Technosoft" and "Tecno Soft" on it.

I have the TV version of the 1/48 Valkyrie (VF-1J) sitting next to me right now on my desk. I like to keep it in Gerwalk mode though.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

It's the annual book fair here in Gothenburg! Started on Thursday and finishes tomorrow. I went on the Saturday as I usually do.

Things that were bought:

Image

So yeah mostly Swedish stuff. Herman Hedning and Sword Princess Amaltea signed by the creators.

Also, that thing in the upper left, which I bought since I am a weak man - a micro drone.

Picked up this lovely thing today

So nice to be able to play basically any Genesis/Master System/32X game on the original hardware. I still like collecting the actual games, but this does quite nicely, especially for those stupidly expensive games.

Will probably pick up an NES version in the near future, maybe SNES, though that one has some troubles with a lot of good stuff since so many SNES games used extra chips on the carts

What the hell. How do you have pier solar on the dreamcast? I preordered that ages ago, I didn't think any of them had shipped yet.

oh boy, I'm glad I'm not someone who backed this in 2012. of course it's fine for someone involved in development to have early copies and do whatever he wants with them, sell them, give them away, smash them up. the thing that is annoying is just how many delays and how little information watermelon have given about what is going on.

Yeah... the real bitch of it is not knowing any idea of whats going on, then seeing a complete version sitting in a thread that was just given away. Getting your update that way...

I didn't back this for the record, but that is about as tacky as it gets. The pick being pulled down doesn't help at this point, if anything it looks worse.

Of course there is so little news from the company about the dreamcast product, but didn't one of the founding members leave the studio?

I don't know honestly. There is always mild drama around these kind of releases it seems.

Hah, wow. Guess Japan still has a bit of that "finding awesome deals at small shops" -thing going on.
