Hmm, I seem to recall that even the "regular" game was tweaked in Blaze; does this mean that with this DLC the base 360 version will play differently than it used to? If so, a leaderboard wipe is probably in the cards.

^That would actually make me pretty sad... I worked harder for my Vanilla score than any of the others, and I'd hate to lose that mode permanently. It'd be like Having Pink Sweets 1.0 erased completely for 1.01...

They might just add Evolution and AC modes and leave the rest as is.

I hope they release it in May, I got an email from Microsoft that the wallet amount of my jp account is only valid until the beginning of June.

Looks like Caladrius is possibly coming overseas, more likely the same way Shooting Love 200X came out? We'll see...

Well, even though the English (360) release isn't out just yet. (Though the achievement list is translated to English, so its bound to be ready someday.)

Moss's Twitter feeds lately mentions lately that there might be an announcement/update or something to Caladrius in about 1800 hours (6 PM) Japan time on 8/6. I guess we'll wait and find out soon, and hopefully something about the English release as well. https://twitter.com/moss_caladrius
---
Update: So apparently, the 360 version now get its its update which is switchable in the options for title update ver. 1.10, if anyone reads moonrunes, go ahead and see what was updated. (Most likely some would say its the "Blaze" update, but I dunno.), also, its digital release gets a price cut. But nothing for the English release...yet. >_> (http://caladrius.mossjp.co.jp/xbox/special_update.html)

PS3 version will just get a temporary sale for its digital release as well. But this is for the 360 thread of this game, also, an Alex Martin 3D model/figure? seems to be in production or something? http://caladrius.mossjp.co.jp/ps3/special04.html

Seems like they are also releasing 3D model files which people can use with their 3D printers.

They have put up a questionnaire of sorts but I cannot read Japanese:

I didn't read the update specifics but I can tell you what it is from hands on experience. Just did a kind of shitty 1cc of the new 1.10 mode with Lilith default. You can change the game mode from 1.00 to 1.10 in the options menu, and what it is is more or less AC Original. It's not Blaze Original. Blaze original is just a rebalanced version of 1.00, AC original is a heavily nerfed easy mode version of Caladrius. Less enemies, popcorn don't shoot much (ever?), some particularly difficult formations had enemies removed, some boss patterns (such as the stage 3 pentagram) have been neutered, bits in stage 6 are now destructible, and the ships are rebalanced to reflect their speed and damage output in Blaze. I always assumed this was just the All.Net's equivalent of a Novice mode, and that's pretty much what it feels like here too. Nothing interesting for serious players, but maybe good for those who found 1.00 too hard. The leaderboards for 1.00 and are separate and 1.00 leaderboards are untouched. The 1.10 leaderboards now show your shot build, so you can enjoy rolling your eyes at the fact everyone plays the exact same build. 1.00 doesn't have this though, probably because they couldnt determine it retroactively. A little disappointing I guess, but I'll take it over completely wiping the boards.

tl;dr
nothing exciting

Edit: BTW regarding that questionnaire. If you fill it out it will give you the 3D printer file for the Alex model. I have it saved on my PC now, looks like they may produce more models in the future too. The questionnaire seems to be gauging interest for future Caladrius related content.

Sure,

Unfortunately I've got no access to a 3D printer myself, so I'll probly never get to see one of these in real life

Thank you very much! The model is in 3 pieces and needs to be glued together, it's a scale of 1/8.

So which version is better? Caladrius Blaze on PS3 or the original game on Xbox 360?

If you end up printing one of these out please post some pics. Do you know of any services where I could get one printed and shipped to me?

Definitely Blaze. Blaze original is a lot better than 1.00. It's a little easier for sure, but it's only because they removed a few things that were kind of bullshit in 1.00 and made the characters more maneuverable and fun to play. And Evolution mode is for sure a masterpiece. New content, rebalanced, and new interesting mechanics that increase scoring depth. Evolution mode is god tier.

I'm semi-interested in this game. Mainly because I haven't played a new shmup in a long time.

It doesn't seem to have a lot of hype on here. So, what's the deal? Is it good?

And I'm asking about the PS3 version. Like is this at least as good as the Shikigami series? It has the same bland backgrounds.

It's very deep and imo better than Shiki (but actually I think Shiki is a good game). Check out the ST if you want a detailed analysis of the mechanics. My guess is the lack of hype mostly has to do with it not being from Cave, which seems to be the only modern stuff anyone on here will give a chance to. The ero probly doesn't help it's image much either unfortunately. But it's mechanically sound, surprisingly difficult to master for score-play.

How many stages did they add, to the Blaze version? I recall the XBox version being mentioned as "too short" a lot.

I think it's also probably due to the initial 360 release begin region locked.

I only have the original game (360) not the port. The original game has six stages and was a bargain at £14.99/$19.99 on games on demand. I understand not everyone likes the convenience of digital games.

Caladrius Blaze added one "External Stage" and two short (no boss) Bonus stages.

Yeah, other than Blaze being the essential upgrade, I had a real good time with the vanilla release, though in all honesty, the English release (as I've might have said it before in other topics) has some cuts to its port, more than likely, the opening song is instrumental (with English translated text in the background), all the story dialogue/voices have been removed (except battle voices), and not only that, the shame breaks and some of the gallery images are replaced by their AC version counterparts (but I guess that might be a good thing, lol.)

Anyways, already got the 1K, got some score updates into that, and also waiting on the DLC characters and other add-ons if and when they decide to add it to the English release, lol. (And back then into this topic, we thought it wasn't gonna be brought overseas...we thought wrong, lol, anything can happen.)

Am I the only one that feels like your weapons are way underpowered in [vanilla] Caladrius? I can't get over it, it's like I might as well not have secondary weapons at all. Or am I just trippin?

Well, not really, although I've heard/read here that if your character/ship gets shame breaked once, and then twice, your attacks get a slight boost or something, so yeah...

I was watching some playthroughs...I had forgotten about the clothes flying off.

What causes that exactly? Can you turn it off?

I've heard its either have 30 medals collected or have a rate multiplier of 3.00, and yes, you can turn them off in the options, though as I said, the English (digital) release uses the AC/Arcade art (Shame Breaks and Gallery Pics), I'm not sure if the JP release retains the original uncensored art (or unless they patched that out from the 1.10 update.). (Though Caladrius Blaze has both either way, lol.)

So, the PS3 version has them?

I don't really like it a whole lot, but I don't want it cut out completely. I might be in the mood to take a look at that.

But what is the purpose of it? Story-wise.

No, what I meant to say is, that the 360 version has them. What I meant to the point is that the English release doesn't have the "lewd" Shame Breaks and the Results Screens, as they are taken from the AC art. I am not sure if the JP 360 version retains this, even after the 1.10 update.

And I meant to say, you can turn the art off in the (game) options. But yes, the PS3 (and the supposed PS4 release, I hope) does have the lewd and non-lewd shame breaks/results screens.

Story wise? Nothing really, its just fanservice, lol. (Though it can, at least, power up your weapons.)

I was wondering about that. Obviously nobody here knows anything either way, but I would hope they wouldn't just leave the DLC menu empty.

Maybe they need more time to make cuts to the DLC as with the base game.

The normal shot for most characters (except Caladrius) was definitely underpowered in vanilla IMO. Some of the Element shots can get very powerful when fully powered up, some of them aren't much use.
