Artoon partnering up with Mistwalker to make Blue Dragon!

Post by jp »

First off, Artoon is mostly composed of the main Team Andromeda folks. The people who brought you the original Panzer Dragoon Trilogy can mostly be found spread out amongst Artoon, Mistwalker, and Microsoft Game Studios. Artoon has Yoji Ishii (R&D head during Saturn era), Manabu Kusunoki (most important person when it comes to Panzer Dragoon's art style), Naoto Ohshima(one of the creators of Sonic/Director of NiGHTS), Hidetoshi Takeshita(Lead programmer for the PD games), Yutaka Sugano (one of the main people in PDIIZwei, though for the life of me I can't remember the specifics).

At any rate, here's the link:

Now I can't wait for Blue Dragon. Its almost like Team Andromeda is alive again, only headed by Hironobu Sakaguchi.

As for where the rest of Team Andromeda is... all I know is the Panzer Dragoon Saga head, Yukio Futatsugi, is with Microsoft Game Studios. In fact, all of the important Panzer Dragoon people are pretty much split between MGS, Artoon, and Mistwalker. Sadly, the series' creator, Tomohiro Kondo, passed away in the late 90s/early 00 (I've never been able to find the exact date).

Well, F*** Square and Sega. As long as they deliver and don't end up flopping *COUGHBLINXCOUGH!*, I'm happy. That should teach Nomura and Naka some humility. (I think he's a coke addict and that's why all the money from PSO's hunter licenses hasn't brought any interesting quests. [/rant mode])
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Funny, I used to think Smilebit was the "heir" of Team Andromeda.

At most Smilebit had 12 lower rung programmers or something... the real brains behind the team either died or left Sega completely.
