Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
I thought it was incredible that Mr. Sato could switch styles so completely between the normal Raidens and Raiden Fighters.
Has he confirmed his involvement in Raiden V? Or will it be someone else...

Based on his Twitter responses I got from him, he just said to wait for any official announcements from MOSS. I don't think he can go ahead and openly discuss that yet.ZacharyB wrote:I thought it was incredible that Mr. Sato could switch styles so completely between the normal Raidens and Raiden Fighters.

Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
Does anyone know the exact day that the original Raiden was released? I can't find it, but I know it was in September of 1990. Maybe MOSS will show something on that day of this month for the 25th anniversary.

While we're waiting for some proper news about Raiden V, behold this lovely DEDICATED Raiden cabinet some dude built: https://youtu.be/Ym_h6fz8B_A

That cabinet is sick. Perhaps when I have the space and means I will build an Under Defeat cab.

Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
So, with TGS 2015 later this week, can we expect any Raiden V news, or do you think we'll have to wait until the Xbox One exclusive events on September 26 and October 4?
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
This might actually get me to clear the dust off of my Xbox One.
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
I'm hoping we see something this week.
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
Me too, I'm sick of the tension. I just want another traditional entry, but I've warmed to the idea of the strange 'viewpoint'. Either way I just want to know.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it seems we won't be seeing anything this week. I just realized it was stupid of me to post that after remembering that Microsoft won't be at TGS this year. They will be doing their own events on Sept. 26 and Oct. 4. My apologies8BA wrote:Me too, I'm sick of the tension. Yeah, I figured MS wouldn't be at it, but I had hope some of the third party devs might at least be. I guess we'll probably end up having to wait.Furry Fox Jet Pilot wrote:Austin wrote:I'm hoping we see something this week.Sorry to burst your bubble, but it seems we won't be seeing anything this week. I have faith it's going to be a traditional entry. Both Raiden III and IV had some crazy viewpoints at times, for cinematic purposes, much like Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga did. For promo purposes, those snapshots probably look a heck of a lot more interesting to the casuals than normal gameplay screens would.8BA wrote:Me too, I'm sick of the tension. The screenshots have small explosions, which almost certainly indicate popcorn-fighting in that perspective.

Or it could be explosions from flak and anti air fire.Obscura wrote:The screenshots have small explosions, which almost certainly indicate popcorn-fighting in that perspective.
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
Really? In my opinion the dimetric projection would make for intensely frustrating gameplay. I love the idea of Zaxxon but I don't enjoy playing it - if you want a taste, Zaxxon is available on Wii VC, Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (PS3/Xbox 360; unlockable) and Sega Genesis Collection (PS2; unlockable; the PSP version contains the more frustrating Super Zaxxon). Also in Zaxxon threats only move in parallel to any one of the three axes - I imagine if MOSS used diagonal shots play-ability would suffer even more.8BA wrote:but I've warmed to the idea of the strange 'viewpoint'.
Personally I'm hoping that it isn't anything more "daring" than what Eschatos and Ginga Force do - and even there some people aren't too thrilled with the perspective changes to the third person view. And lets keep in mind that the initial release of both Eschatos and Ginga Force was delayed by several months due to "quality/play-ability" concerns - some of these concerns were possibly due to the non-traditional views and it is likely that MOSS has to go through a similar type of "learning experience".
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
Nah, but I'll have to accept whatever we get because it's Raiden & I have to play it. May as well go in with a positive attitude.HydrogLox wrote:Really?8BA wrote:but I've warmed to the idea of the strange 'viewpoint'.

The first Xbox One event in Tokyo is just around the corner, in 3 days (Japan Time). Is anyone here going to be attending? I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more information

It begins at 11am Japan time so that would be 8 hours from now. It runs until 6 pm I believe.
Schedule is as follows:
10:45 – Opening
11:00 to 11:20 – Forza Motorsport 6
11:20 to 11:40 – 2015 Featured Games
11:40 to 12:00 – Scalebound
12:30 to 13:30 – ID @ Xbox
14:00 to 14:30 – Rise of the Tomb Raider
15:00 to 15:30 – Xbox One x Windows 10
16:00 to 16:45 – Rainbow Six Siege
16:45 to 17:00 – Halo 5: Guardians
I doubt Raiden V will have a major presentation, if it shows up.
Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
I'm not sure why Microsoft is even bothering with Xbox in Japan. They are selling less than 200 Xbox Ones a week over there which is just pitiful, that's nearly 100 times less than the number of PS4s being sold. It's time for Microsoft to pull the plug on Japan and admit that they failed.
I'd really be surprised if this game even comes out at this point, it's looking more and more like Vaporware.

This month marks the 25th anniversary of the series, they surely will present something (I hope)mastermx wrote:For some reason I have strong doubts that Raiden V will show up.

I hope so too. Could do with more Raiden. My doubts stem from the same reasons that pegboy pointed out. I also wonder if this will remain to be a permanent exclusive to the x1

Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
I'm fairly confident something will finally be shown. As for remaining an exclusive, I think it will eventually make its way to PS4 and PC as well, seeing how Raiden IV was eventually ported to PS3 and PC. I'm kind of hoping for a PS3 version, but we don't know how technically demanding the game will be yet. I could settle for a PC version thoughmastermx wrote:I hope so too. Could do with more Raiden. Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
I didn't watch the entire stream, but I didn't see anything. Guess we'll just have to wait until more information comes rolling in. This really baffles me, I mean come on it's the perfect time to show something, with this month being the month Raiden was released 25 years ago. It just doesn't make senseAstro City II wrote:I'm guessing nothing was shown then?

Re: Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015
Frankly it isn't a good sign. It "makes sense" if MOSS feels that the situation has gotten so dire that there is actually nothing to left to celebrate (i.e. to the point that it is irrelevant that outsiders have started to notice) and they don't have a dime left to celebrate. Given the activity with H2 Interactive I wouldn't be surprised if they already have their claws in the Raiden V license in case something happens to MOSS. So if Raiden V does see the light of day it may do so as an H2 Interactive game - I would also imagine that they wouldn't be bound to releasing it on the Xbox One.Furry Fox Jet Pilot wrote:It just doesn't make sense
EDIT: MOSS was only established in 1993 - so they may also feel that it is not their place to celebrate the 25th anniversary of a franchise that originated under Seibu Kaihatsu.

Well, there's still the other event in Osaka next week, but it might just be the same presentations over again. If there's nothing new after that than I'll assume the following is true, although I don't know how credible a source tvtropes is.HydrogLox wrote:Frankly it isn't a good sign. That'd be weird considering it's the sole reason the game 'exists' in the first place. c'mon Moss say something.HydrogLox wrote:I would also imagine that they wouldn't be bound to releasing it on the Xbox One.Furry Fox Jet Pilot wrote:It just doesn't make sense
