The game is finally greenlit. Thanks to everyone who helped me to get through Greenlight.

About the upcoming version:
SturmFront will be released on steam in a new version. This means:
  • - new content
    - improved gameplay
    - faster bullets
    - more sounds
    - level select screen
    - ...
So you will get a new experience. But before creating the new version of "SturmFront - The Mutant War" my
second game "1917 - The Alien Invasion" will be released on Steam.

I wouldn't recommend using that name.

It sounds too much like Stormfront, the white-supremacist, neo-nazi web-forum.
And the tagline "Kill for glory" makes it even worse : O

Other than that, what can you divulge about that game, namely, how close is it to Guwange?

He has another thread here with the donation-driven PC version. Give it a shot, it's not too bad.

I only had issue with the infinite lives bit. Has that been changed at all?

Clearly a game about killing mutants can be related to neo nazis '-'

That and many people never heard of stormfront.

I would think that's exactly the sort of parallel people would draw. That's like, X-Men 101.

Getting some major Total Carnage vibes from this, which is cool. That mutant boss with triple boobs and a mutant vagina is kinda weirding me out though.

the only people "stormfront" applies to are americans. you could try to go on about target market this and that, and i would tell you that 1. people would be a lot more understanding if they actually recognized that the developer isn't american, and 2. europeans tend to appreciate this genre when it comes to actually playing it so they're a much better target market if that ends up being the case.

...there is a huge difference between eldritch horrors out to destroy everything called "mutants", and normal people with powers called "mutants".

First of all: Thanks to every one who helps me on Greenlight!

Now let me try to answer all questions:

About the boss design:
They are more creepy mutant bosses in the game! believe me.
The "Busenzuchtherrin" is not the strangest/cyclopic creature.

Stormfront [Name]: they are not popular in europe. So "we" europeans - or somebody who don´t know this forum/group, don´t associate the name with this
idiotic and loathsome organization. The whole idea behinde name and setting is more or less a Warhammer 40k version mixed with bullet hell in late 80´s retro style. I hope it make sense for you. And "Kill for glory" is a typical martial phrase that can be found in every Manowar song :)

How close is the game to Guwange?
It is not really close to this masterpiece.
The game is more based on "Commando", "Mercs" and "OutZone" from Toaplan.

Infinite lives: This is a design decision that i will not change in the Steam version. I really hate to restart a complete game when my lives are zero and I think it is less frustrating when you just restart the current level.

Will this be more like Shock Troopers? Will we have to ability to lock the shooting direction and move the character at the same time by holding the button pressed?
