Hello,
I have just acquired a Sony BVM-20F1E in Australia after only using the mini-framemeister on a lcd with a PAL set up for my retro gaming (which is great).
Needless to say im super excited and eagerly awaiting for the breakout cable to arrive so I can bask in its glory.
My question is am I able to take advantage of NTSC (60hz) consoles and games on the BVM-20F1E?
Thanks

Re: Sony BVM-20F1E NTSC Consoles?
Provided you have 220VAC 50Hz -> 110 VAC 60Hz power transformers to power these source devices from your outlets, yes. The Sony BVM series are capable displaying NTSC 7.5 IRE, PAL, SECAM for sources that use those those standards (Note that RGBs does not and is a regionless display standard).
You do need to select the display standard for the particular channel you're inputting to via the service menu. That's primarily for IRE differences.
Just a sidenote, the E in the 20F1x model number does refer to the regions in which it was marketed for, though they are effectively compatible with all regional broadcast standards.

a lot of times you can find a power adapter for your region with the same console - side specifications as the original one that came with your console.
thats all you need to worry about is the output specs on whatever power supply you find match your console.
RGB will work in any region. your mileage will vary with ntsc or composite.
even though i was using a PVM monitor, My pal snes was confused when i hooked it up through s-video because i was using a 60hz power supply on an 50hz pal console. Using RGB fixed that because RGB is neither ntsc or pal.
