in my case, any Cave games are good to go and play. Even the ones I don't really play or I'm not good at.
Thou it would make more sense to have the games that aren't available on MAME, if you know what I mean. People would be like, what's the point buying a PC game while we already have them for free with Mame. Unless those games comes with the extra modes like the Ketsui xmode, Guwange Blue Label or Espgaluda Arrange etc...
So Xbox 360 ports would be ideal, and unreleased PCB like Ibara (even if I don't like it)
Most clever thing to do would be releasing Deathsmiles as it was their biggest success in the west.
So all of the people who pirate are going to purchase the games now? I don't get the excitement. Most people either legitimately own the games /ports or pirate everything. Is the market for people unaware of these games in general?

I don't understand? Don't you realise a lot of people don't own consoles or if they do they don't want to have more than 1 and maybe its not the right one? PC players? I am one of them in fact, thats pretty much the reason why I have always been playing with keyboard, cause it is PC's main controller and it is simply good enough. And yes I will buy a game if I like it a lot or play it a lot I buy no problem like the majority of PC players (thats why I bought some ports even though I don't/can't play them because I don't have or want the consoles and the TV either). Also yes lots of PC players surely are unaware of these games and steam is good for communicating about games coming out so I have a hunch this is a very good move let us see what happens :D

Hell, even though I own all the X360 ports I will buy the games they release on Steam just as a way of saying "Thank you" tho those guys. CAVE games make me rock-hard and I'm willing to even sell all my CS:GO skins in order to throw money to Ikeda and his team.
I hope they start with SDOJ, but I only want the X360 1.5 ver. That's the only Cave game I've got a real itch to play - well Kuro too, but that's like a distant dream.
I would be happy to see DonPachi, DoDonPachi, DoDonPachi II Bee Storm, Progear and Ibara Kuro and all the games that previously just got a PS2 release like Espgaluda etc..
All with new play-modes and for Bee Storm a new scoring-mode.
I´d like to see these games, cause they weren´t released on X360 or any other newer Konsole.
Release all those beautiful CAVE games for X360, PS4, XBone, PC! All of them!
But a new game would absolutely stunning!
I HOPE THEY DON'T port it to steam... they are plenty of REAL CAVE games 100000 times better than this !
i start to see guys on twitter asking them to port mobile rpg or dodonpachi saturn version extra stage to steam... wtf !? they just got into occidental market, let's not traumatise them with weird requests !!
@Jockel:
Hey, nice to see another german NAOMI cab owner and shmup lover.
I play Raiden IV: Overkill at my NAOMI right now.
Really nice, exept that some of the buttons weren´t recognized. I use a JVS-PAC.

Real Cave game or not, for me it´s a Cave game and I enjoyed it. Off course there are better games to come first.
It´s just one on my list and I said I´d like new game/arrange modes and new scoring system on this.
What are the points you dislike at Bee Storm?

I played it too and it´s definately not one off my fave´s, but it has to be ported some time.
Maybe they should twitch a little at the scoring/ranking/difficulty system and add some lower difficulty options.
The original version is to hard for most players I think. hardcoregaming101 has a good articel about Ibara.
I would like to see some scanline options and some graphic filter options like 5xBRZ.
I know some people don´t like this stuff, but as an option, why not?!
EDIT:
@d3vak:
Isn´t the PS2 version off Ibara just Ibara? Ibara Kuro Black Label is another titel basing on the arrange mode of the PS2 version of Ibara.?!

I don't really get why do people want it so bad either. I played the PS2 port and didn't get hooked to it.
We all want what we can't have; that's human nature I suppose.
Although I'm pretty sure that Ibara Kuro and the PS2 arrange aren't identical, and that Kuro is loosely based off of the arrange mode.

As hermit says the PS2's Arrange mode and Black Label share some elements but aren't the same game.
Maybe I don't even know what I'm missing out then
Anyway it's possible that I didn't even gave that game much attention because I was so fascinated with that PS2 EspGaluda Arrange mode in which you can play the EspRaDe characters...Man that was cool as shit.
Cee wrote:They aren't esprade characters to my knowledge however arrange espgaluda was indeed spectacular.
Well IIRC, the names weren't the same but the gameplay style was the same for Black<->J-B 5th and Chihiro<->Irori. Even though I don't remember that much of the latter one, I did played a lot Black and the way I see it, he is clearly a grown-up version of J-B 5th.

i think bee storm is highly less enjoyable than other cave games, in term of fun, adrenaline, pleasure of playing, gameplay, replay value, scoring, etc...
but it all depends on subjective point after all, my favorites cave games being saidaioujou and daioujou black label
Personally I'd really just like for these games to feel like the classic, legacy games they deserve to be. I'd really love to start with Dodonpachi, maybe bundled with a digital soundtrack and a PDF of a manual and printable arcade flyer or something, and sidebars that mimick the original cab. I know Cave is probably in some dire straits right now, but I think having every copy sold as a digit bundle with extras would go a long way toward honoring Cave's output as classic legacy titles. With digital games this is all the more important toward fighting Steam sales creep and "well I can play it in Mame."
Futari Black is my favorite Cave game (speaking of which, I hope Vanilla and Black labels are bundled together or you'll get a lot of bad press from people who wanted a sequel and got "the same game") but I can't help but feel that the way to start this off is to finally get a properly done, properly available Dodonpachi port. That way you can rope everyone in with "this is what started it all" (does anyone feel this way about Donpachi? I dunno) and you won't have to get people over the hurdle of swimsuit dolls or beetleriding bug princess or transgender fairies. Dodonpachi is a great game that cuts through all of that. It's immediately appealing.

I don't think DDP would sell as much as Futari as a Steam first entry. But if they choose DDP, they'd have to include a Novice mode to it because...you know.
