I know CRT is the best for gaming and I use my RCA True Flat with my older consoles. But I'd like to have an HD display that has minimal lag. My current TCL tv really feels like it has a lot of lag. It's not as bad if I use VGA but I don't like the picture quality as well as hdmi. Plus PS4 doesn't have a vga cable as far as I know.
I've done a little research and I'm thinking about getting this BenQ XL2720Z. Is this the best bet for gaming? I do like how the stand for the BenQ rotates easily for tate.
It seems like gaming monitors are kind of a compromise in that they have low lag but the colors may not be all that great. Plus I'd like to have a larger screen too. I was really impressed with the Samsung 4k ultra tv sets at the store but they probably lag I'm guessing.
Any recommendations?

Disregard LCD, expend currency on OLED.

Re: Gaming TV
The topic has been discussed on the Hardware subforum. From what I gather, the biggest screens around tend to lag badly.
I guess on PC you can divide the picture between three or two screens, which might be a workaround.

Certain Sony and Samsung models seems to be what to get if you're looking at gaming performance on a bigger screen.
Check this Sony thread in the hardware section as well as Rtings.com, as they bring up input lag and motion blur in their reviews.

OLED certainly takes care of the blur part of lag (although it can still appear to blur if it's non-strobing) but OLED screens don't have great input lag figures yetBryanM wrote:OLED.
also, being an early adopter is for chumps
as for that BenQ, I'm not really familiar with the non-IPS, non-*Sync stuff out there, but it might be a bit expensive for what you get. The 144Hz part is going to be useless for your console, and that might be adding to the price. It looks decent enough otherwise.

Thanks. Rtings was very helpful. Ended up going with the Vizio M43-C1. Really enjoying it so far.Ji-L87 wrote:Certain Sony and Samsung models seems to be what to get if you're looking at gaming performance on a bigger screen.
