Is there an expansion RGB input board for the BVM 20f1u?

I'm looking for an input expansion board for my BVM that has RGB. Do they make one? All the boards I see don't seem to have a sync input. On the component boards can you use the next red input for sync? It doesn't seem to work that way, am I missing something?

And it should look like the picture, with the d-sub connectors on the far left, 4 optional slots to the right, and then the standard RGB and sync inputs / outputs to the right of those.

You seem to have figured it out. I haven't been able to find a specific name for the board as it's standard equipment - the manual just calls it (on page 15 of the manual) "analog input/output connectors." If somebody has taken it out for resale, you'd best ask them to put it back as it's standard equipment and shouldn't be removed unless it's being fixed.

It might even be necessary for operation. It might be possible to get by with a BKM-28X and BKM-48X (covered on pages 6-7 of the manual), but they are optional input boards and the standard connector board might have some necessary components. Maybe somebody can give you good news here.

crap. thanks Ed, I finally understand what the reason is for importing scart stuff. When I bought the 20f1u I thought I could add more RGB boards to it, and not have to get a switch. I guess its off to look for a switch now. Any suggestions? Is there a BNC switch that is any good? As odd as it may sound, I kinda like making my own cables. I don't have to wait forever to get parts or pay import shipping. Is there any reason I should not be making my own cables?

Hmm, I don't remember any links, but there have been threads on SCART switches here before. There's this project, but I'm not sure what its status is right now. There should be some other general SCART switch threads here.

I personally have (but haven't used, so I can't really recommend it) a powered component switch from Audio Authority (with BNC -> RCA adapters, of course). It should work well. The SCART pinout seems to add some generally useless pins and extra opportunities for quality loss, but people use them without reported problems. I'd personally be happy sticking to BNC all the way, but everybody bangs a SCART plug onto everything so I just use those for compatibility (RGB -> SCART, then SCART to BNC).

I don't think so. You can make it to your own specifications and don't have to worry about turnaround time in case somebody sends a bad / broken cable.

For SCART, I think the only thing you'd have to pay particular attention to is the pinout direction.
