Any recommended book?

Post by asdronin »

Hi all,
I was just wondering if maybe there is any book (digital or physical) you have seen somewhere about making a shmup step by step from beginning to end with whatever the program/technology, does such book exists? can you recommend it? Im curious, I have been searching for such book and maybe my search patterns are all wrong but couldnt find any. Thanks beforehand for any clue about this =)

EDIT: Also if you can mention any book of that kind... what kind of shmup is achieved through reading it? that information is important, I know learning about the process makes it possible to make whatever we could imagine but just to know more specifically what is it about, for instance I would like to read about danmaku creation but Im not only looking for a book about that type.

Thanks Ixmucane2, seems quite usefull, I didnt know both versions of shmup-dev.com forums, so I will be looking for the info and tutorials shared there. I will have an eye on BulletMl too, I never tried that myself so maybe its the time for that who knows. As said thanks a lot for the information =), and lets hope someone makes something like a book for this, I think many people will appreciate that even if its just for simple shmup it could always be a learning experience that people could addapt to their own personal shmup favorite type.
