Futari would be a good start. Mushi HD would kick it out of the park.
The downside is that it is unlikely that their bread-and-butter domestic market is unlikely to accept Steam/PC as the primary delivery platform - so the post-Xbox 360 platform of choice has yet to be determined.
Steam/Pc becoming a platform of choice for Japan perhaps seems questionable.
But if you're comparing it to the Xbox 360 "success" there, everything becomes possible again.
Steam releases of Cave shmup? This is something they should do many years ago before ending up to the point of making smartphone games only. At least these games will find more, new fans since their Xbox360 were mostly played by hardcore shmup fans that either imported their games or hacked their consoles.
