Hi all,
A few days ago I reported on this board that my three consoles (PC Engline, AV Famicom and Super Famicom) were all working perfectly on my Framemeister via their RGB outputs.
Unfortunately, I may have rejoiced too soon.
Upon switching on the Framemeister today, I noticed significant image glitching and jumpiness on all three consoles. By adjusting the sync level I was able to reduce this to tolerable levels when using the Super Famicom, but not with the other two.
The strange thing is, I am certain that everything was absolutely perfect in my setup when I last used it a few days ago.
I have tested my SCART to XRGB mini passive adapter cable for continuity - there does not appear to be any problem there. I have also checked that everything is securely connected.
Can anyone suggest any other possible remedies? I'm at a bit of a loss as to what might be the problem here!
Most grateful again for any advice offered.

Re: Framemeister - image glitches / jumpiness
Hi all,
A bit of an update on this -
I'm still getting glitching, but it's nowhere near as pronounced as it was yesterday. The PC Engine is currently quite usable (unfortunately I don't have my AV Famicom handy to test). As far as I'm aware, I haven't actually changed anything to cause this improvement.
I am now a little concerned that my Framemeister might have some kind of intermittent fault, however I should point out that it still looks fine on the composite input (well, as good as composite can look, anyway).
I note that it's possible to buy a version of the SCART to XRGB mini adapter with built in video sync separator. At the moment I am using a passive adapter, as I understood that this was all that was required if using firmware version 2.00A. I'm happy to buy the active adapter if there is a good chance it will solve the issue, but I want to be reasonably sure that I am not throwing good money at a problem that it won't resolve. Can anyone advise me on this?
As always, any suggestions would be most welcome.

You don't really need a syncstripper to the XRGB-Mini. There's a sync setting (don't remember exact name) where you can set it to manual or auto. If you have to auto pretty much any sync will work out perfectly without tweaking.

Re: Framemeister - image glitches / jumpiness
Thanks nissling, yes my understanding was the same. The setting you refer to is found under sync_set > sync_mode. I have it set to auto at the moment and it is producing a reasonably (though not perfectly) stable image.
It is possible that what I experienced yesterday was some kind of weird transient issue. I'll see if there's any change over the next few days.
Incidentally, even with sync_mode set to auto, the sync_level setting still has an effect - is this supposed to happen?

Re: Framemeister - image glitches / jumpiness
the sync mode setting toggles v-sync, while the sync level option regulates the ampification for the sync signal. They're not related.

Thanks Fudoh, that makes sense. Would I be correct in saying that the sync mode should remain set to auto if my TV can handle the signal?
By the way, there has been no change in performance since yesterday - still just a little glitching with the PC Engine. Is this just a limitation I will have to live with? Or should a perfectly stable image be attainable?
