i have a "this is cool" skeleton Saturn that never gave me a problem in the 7 years I've owned it until a few days ago where it just stopped giving me an image.
It powers on and the disc spins, I have it plugged in via scart rgb into an xrgb 3 and when I turn it on the screen jumps as if it's receiving an image and says 15khz in green text on screen like it normally does except nothing else follows.
I've read on other forums from archived older post of people with similar problems is that a possible cause of this could be a power supply issue. I have no idea.
I've tried swapping cables with an s video cable and its the same exact thing as before. Screen jumps, 15khz text, no image.
Anyone know what's going on?

Re: Sega Saturn won't display image
Do you get any audio at all if you let the game load up?
Have you tried to see if another console works? Or tried plugging the saturn into another display device?
Checking the saturn, open it up to access the mainboard. On the saturn mainboard, check the 10uf 16v capacitors, they could be busted, and need replacement.
On the other side check and see if any solder points look dried/corroded, you might need to reflow some solder.
One of the QFP chips could also be a little loose, if you push gently on them and find a loose one, that will be a culprit.

I have the Saturn plugged into an xrgb 3 via scart, I've confirmed its not the xrgb3 as the scaler works fine with the playstation in the same port. I switched cables to s video cables on the Saturn and the same problem persists.Nocturnal wrote:Do you get any audio at all if you let the game load up?

I don't get any sound either. I'm not good at soldering or anything too technical at all unfortunately
