So this is something I've experienced some time ago and thought this was related to the recent UI changes, couldn't find a solution, gave up for a while...
But now I'm set on getting that build to work for good, because it's the one Windows build I absolutely want.
Looks like I still can't...and it's driving me INSANE *hurk rhuuueeergh rhaaaaa kill kill kill* TT
MAMEUIFX64 0.165 under Win 8.1
Symptoms/story;
- no UI/game/paths/configs/etc will save
- every time I launch mameuif64 is like the first time
- there's no mame.ini or equivalent anywhere by default
- so I create a mame.ini manually, empty
- stuff gets written in if I put it in the INI folder only (not the folder of the executable)
- but only default settings... every change I make from the UI doesn't write and of course doesn't save
- manually editing and saving the INI seems to work, but it's a monstrous CHORE as I don't know all the values, syntax or whatever, plus some stuff I'd like to edit seems to be missing
- as I want to customize the shit out the UI/folders/paths etc, doing everything manually will take ages
*pulling hair, shouting, and smashing little animals*
I understand the GLSL shaders settings are always manual and I'm fine with that, but for everything else I don't want to have to edit the INI every fucking time, otherwise that's my definition of an unusable program.
That's it. Any of you experienced the same ? Any ideas ?
No need to say I've browsed the shit out of this and tried to join MAMEUIFX's forums, but no luck anywhere.
