In terms of sexuality, her SFV outfit is actually more lenient than the SFA outfit (no heart-nipples). She doesn't have the clunky but sexy "oopsie ehehee" personality anymore either.

For me it's still difficult to find a character design sexually appealing when the art style makes them look like they're made out of clay.

Feels like I'd be jackin' it to The Neverhood.

'Like, that render up above me is fine. But watching the trailer, bleh.

Something about her freaks me out. That might be it. I definitely don't find her appealing.

DOA top 8 are part of Summer Jam 9 today from 2pm on teamspooky.

Had some epic oldschool troll play yesterday during the semis:

I've never heard of this manga series before now, but apparently there's some manner of fighting game being made based on it.

What's with the SFV graphics? I thought IV looked poor (on stills), but how many years it's been again? Does a single person on Earth think there's nothing particulary wrong with this game's artwork? I mean, really - up until PS2 gen I could willingly suspend my disbelief (even Tekken 3 emulated in high resolution on PC looked okay to me), but ever since DoA4 or so I've kept thinking "does it look ANY better than Tekken 5 to anybody?"
Granted - rarely do I see those games in motion and I'm nowhere near their core target, but, cripes...

Look at them in motion...
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Yes, outside of this father-forum, pretty much the majority of people think that SFV looks good.
It's 3D with artstyle other than 'realism' like DOA or Tekken.
Like I've said, it's probably the sweetest looking 3D game that I've seen actually. The juicy, plastic figure -like characters look amazing in motion, especially when they get rid of all the physics glitches.

The term "realism" does not really fit something that is influenced by anime/manga. What you're trying to say is that in Tekken and DOA the majority of the cast have the same body proportions. Such ideal musculature and long limbs on charismatic characters with fancy hairstyles and distinctive facial features is hardly "realism" in any sense.

I think it looks fantastic, more SFII~ish than ever.
But there are way too many dust/smoke/impact effects, IMHO those get in the way of the sleek visuals and even the action.

I play it, and it's fucking solid and awesome, go buy it now. You can't dislike Kotani's sprites, I know some of them are unfinished, but they look so damn good.

but they look so damn good
1) Could be a bit more high res (they look out of space on those painted backgrounds; and i dunno if you have 304x224 CRT, i don't - so those lowres fighters in post-2005 fgt games look like they went easier way). Though it's not that important...
2) I just dislike their design. The sad thing that i was hyped by their portraits

This pic made me wanting the game
http://nyu-media.com/wp-content/uploads ... mo-600.jpg

And when i saw her fully and in game sprites, i was completely disappointed. It was pretty generic and lacked all characterization and mistery.

They're low res because they're drawn in the style of classic fighter sprites. Think KOF, not Blazblue. Personally I think they look better that way.

Also it's not the character sprites that look out of place next to the backgrounds, it's the backgrounds that look out of place next to the character sprites.

It's a shame they didn't have time to sprite some real stages. Game would have been a complete aesthetic package that way. Hell they're not even animated lol.

I like the designs also, and think the sprites are a solid representation of the art like above. Gonna have to disagree on all fronts here.

That being said, i have nothing against SNK backlog on Neo Geo etc.

I'd agree on backrounds.

As for character designs, maybe i should take another look at them. (And maybe i just didn't expect those archetyped miniskirt girls).

^What difference would that make, you want less of a port, and less additions? I mean, yes, I know what you mean, like include it as a separate game or w/e, but it is what it is.
