Crappy stuff you've just bought

Post by BIL »

aka SHUMPS CONSUMER REVIEW BOARD

As men of refined taste it's no surprise most of our purchases are Awesome. This thread is for exceptions. :[ Please vent articulately!

Picked this up for CHEEP at the supermarket to tide me over between a dead DS4 and something better.

^ It's a useless piece of shit ("NO SHIT SHERLOCK LOLOLOL") STFU! :O It's a POS for a very specific, remarkable reason! I've used plenty of cheapo knockoff pads over the years, with serviceable performance... this one's friggin' d-pad inputs die if pressed too hard, and by "hard" I mean .000009psi beyond initial actuation pressure. I've never seen such a shiteful dearth of quality. Unforgivable! Oh wellz.

Of all cheap PC controllers I used, some old Speedlink Strike (transparent, wired) model was most decent. I wouldn't use d-pad much at the time, though. Did the job and didn't feel (or look) tacky.
You wan't a dependable d-pad cheap, you buy a PSX Sony controller and USB adapter. Can't recommend third party ones (Hori one looking barely used has one of the WORST d-pads out there, which would explain why it was barely used).
USB adapter for Classic Controller (Pro) seems like a good idea (using CCP with GenPlusGX on the Wii feels just rigt, coming from playing emulated games on PC with PlayStation controllers), but I haven't got one yet.

As sexy as their designs appear, I have never used a Logitech flightstick that didn't die on me within months.

Conversely, CH sticks look like plasticky pieces of shit but they are bar none the most reliable flightsticks I've ever used. The joystick port interface died before the CH Flightstick I used on my old 386.
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"
