Welcome to shmups. ^_^

No doubt you'll soon partake in the creaming of the pants events. (i.e., a new CAVE game is announced. XD)

Owned Galaga eh? I've been playing a lot of that myself lately along with Galaga 88, good old school fun to be had, I'll make it a point to pick up Galaga NES in the future.

And welcome to the boards.

I got to level 16 on the PS2 Namco Museum 50th Anniversary, funny thing is I was half asleep and got the furthest I've ever managed to get on any version of Galaga.

Hello new person! me new too! ish... ain't posted much. been lurking around for a while. Been playing shooters since i was a child in the 80's, was lucky enough to live in a seaside town and have ready access to the arcades in their heyday, something i am very, very grateful to have experienced. I'm certainly no pro, just playing for fun. This is an awesome place for the latest in shmuppage news! i love it!

Also fairly new, I've been lurking and can honestly say this is a great place for shmuppers to meet and get info. I guess I feel a bit intimidated because my skill is no where near that of most people here - 1CC Gunbird2 on very easy was a serious accoplishment last night

Heh heh, don't worry, there are a good amount of "casual" players around here (myself included), along with the really skilled ones. Congrats on the Very Easy 1CC, btw!

I usual just do my best and my skills seem to flucsuate for example.
Great:Beating the first four bosses of gunbird2 on very hard with one credit with no bombs(Because I wasted them all earlier)
Bad:dying in first level of Galaga
God Awful:Getting shot by the first helicopter that appears in Raiden2

its only within the last couple of years i've been re-snagged by the shooting love, went on a trip to japan with a mate a couple of years back and for me seeing various cave games i was "what they still make these??? i used to love these games!?" they're a little overwhelming and complicated for someone weaned on 1942 and flying shark but they made me want to play again. I ended up spending a hefty amount of my holiday rummaging around various cades and shopping for saturn goodies. Finally got a dedicated vertical tv which is a nice thing to have, no more squishovision. Still a bit rubbish at the games tho, but hey! i enjoy myself!

Hello Dale:

Welcome to Shmups. This is quite a talkative, active community, so I hope you enjoy your stay.

Cheers.

P.S. I recommend trying games from Cave.

P.S. I recommend trying games from Cave.[/quote] I,ve always wanted to try them but I,m having trouble getting mame to work on my PC and I don,t have the money to import games or get rare saturn disks,But I,d probally love them. I actually have a freind who has mame on his computer I was about to try Dodonpachi or ketsui but I had to leave his house. I,m definatly trying them in the future.

I doubt your pal has Ketsui on MAME, unless there was a recent 500-post thread titled "OMG Ketsui MAMEd and there was much creaming of the pants!!" that I missed, otherwise it's news to me!

Anyway, welcome and enjoy your stay! Always good to see new members!
