Does anyone here use them? I've been trying to do some research on them (myoung shin fanta sticks in particular), but information on them seems very limited.
From what I've gathered they require very little throw distance for activation and they return to neutral extremely quickly. Tekken players love them so I thought they might be good for shmups as well.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts if you've used them for shmups.

Re: Korean Parts?
I haven't heard much in terms of positive feedback for shooters (at least on the BYOAC forums), but all I can suggest really is to try. If it doesn't feel right, you can always sell it and use the money to buy a different one.
A big question is what are you installing this into? A Hori or MadCatz stick will not likely fit a Myoungshin Fanta stick at all. I know Crown makes sticks that are designed to fit into Japanese-made enclosures. Lastly, the tensioner will be a rubber grommet. There are different kinds.

Re: Korean Parts?
I do not know where you got this information.
the guy who wrote this is a moron
typical broscience
All Korean joysticks are unplayable in shmups all have greater throw and later enage than any joytsick from HAPP, and all are imprecise.
this stick work how brake from the carousel
Korean sticks helps in Tekken because have a massive neutral zone and it helps make wavedash (because there is a pause in input), have pivot on rubber grommet and it faster than bearing (how on JP sticks) but does not reflect strong in the opposite direction how spring
and that's the whole secret.

kowal, that was uncalled for. All I've done was just post what I have personally found from what few results across two forums from trying to search for myself. You had no right calling me a moron. At least use a little tact.

perhaps exaggerated
but I hate bad advice
He asks
You answer and encourages him to purchase, but You do not know anything, not played at this, only You read about it
stupid advice is worse than none.
He buy this crap and what's next?
only lose money, because You "read" about it on 2 forums

Re: Korean Parts?
I understand, kowal, but that's the problem. NOONE has tested it aside from what VERY LITTLE info I've found from searching (if at all). Plus, you can word things a little better than how condescending you come off as. Besides, what evidence do YOU YOURSELF have that it is unsuitable? I wasn't even trying to provide him advice to begin with. All I've done is just tell him what little I could find from searching, and what most players who've been in the deeper end of the hobby for years usually suggest.
Seriously, if you think K-sticks are as horrid as you claim, then please do both the OP and myself a favor: test one yourself. I can be shown as much text as possible with numbers and such, but to me, proof of whether something is truly better for a genre/subgenre is actually seeing someone demonstrate. So please, if you want to prove it's that bad, let's see some footage of you giving a serious attempt at old and new shooters with one as evidence of that. Then we can have some more conclusive proof.

Re: Korean Parts?
This will never work well, throw and engage is too long 2 x such as Japanese 3x such on Suzo 4x than Magnetic
people prefer LS32 than JLF but the difference between them is just one silly millimeter...
what to compare? is a different world.
as well as the tractor is not suited to the formula1
rubber on every direction works differently, they do not have a stable central position
have different tension too on every direction, especially in the initial period.
is typical properties of rubber, this can not be bypassed, you must learn to live with it
for fighting game all this thing is not critical, and paradoxically Fanta still have advantages in certain situations
but not on shmups where movements is fast and small
large neutral zone only bother
