Eh, so i have still some chances to convert you to Dolce&Gabbana
But seriously, while interlaced mode is not the funniest thing around (i'm pretty sure it causes me slight headaches), extras outweigh weird graphic choices. I doubt that, even with an affordable price and a serious attitude (i.e. when i like a game, i can play it for ages.Assuming 50 cents per play, i think i could have bought the equivalent of a 500$ PCB easily, for some titles), i would prefer the original version: i'm too old and bitter to sit down and find out score opportunities without a stage select mode. So, nless Ibara has a stage select mode on PCB...

I think Ibara PS2 will have a Simulation Mode like Mushi, Daioujou and Espgaluda did. I'm surprised though, I would have thought you'd enjoy the idea of hammering your way through another Raizing game ^_-Randorama wrote:i would prefer the original version: i'm too old and bitter to sit down and find out score opportunities without a stage select mode. I'd definitely be surprised if Simulation Mode is actually any good though, as in if you can actually set more realistic rank levels to practice with. The past three Cave PS2 releases have somewhat failed in that respect, with Daioujou and Espgaluda only just coming close by allowing you to load a saved replay as a Sim Mode setting.

Sorry, i wrote the wrong thing. I prefer the port TO THE original game, now, because of the aforementioned reasons. Score attack and stage select help a lot, unless there's the option of copying someone's else video -____-

About the Ibara Soundtrack and Figure Set from Cave...
Cave has a policy to sell their items domestically as a priority, (so they say), but I tried my best to distribute their exclusive items for overseas fans at the same time. But it's been really tough to deal with many "expensive" items at once for a limited time such as their "one-day-only-sale" deadline policy.
I'm sorry to announce this, but I have to wait and see if they will have extra stock left over after the release date.
I have decided not to take preorders on this Ibara Set this time. I will try after the release date if I can help overseas fans.
Please send your email to me if you are interested in buying this item, if available. I will put your email on a Wish-List for the near future.
I hope we see a brightside to this situation, and hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel...
Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.
My deepest regards & apology to all Ibara music fans!

I don't know. Cave's first OST was distributed in limited quantities IIRC. People wanting the OST had to use Japanese phone services to log onto a special webpage where they can preorder the OST (at least, that was the case with Daioujou/Ketsui). I think they did that with Espgaluda and Mushi as well, although Cocoebiz picked up a bunch of them for sale.
From their OST info page, it looks like they are following the same route for this OST as well (i-mode, Vodafone, EZ-WEB and other services).
Either we'll have to wait patiently for Cocoebiz to try and pick up surplus, or its time to trawl YAJ -_-;;

I know how much it costs to produce a CD, and these guys will be pressing in the tens of thousands in japan, once you make your glass master, production costs are minimal (way less than a dollar per CD), and it actually works out CHEAPER for them to produce larger quantities of the figure / CD..
still they've obviously produced their run, and there's nothing we can do about it, and the prices on YJP will be through the roof.
it just doesnt make sense... surely an extra 500-1000 minimum overrun would still sell out, not to mention why their distributor should ignore order requests from international online CD retailers....

Settle down. They did this with Mushi, and they did a 2nd run. Prices of that soundtrack are not through the roof at all.pixelcorps wrote:I know how much it costs to produce a CD, and these guys will be pressing in the tens of thousands in japan, once you make your glass master, production costs are minimal (way less than a dollar per CD), and it actually works out CHEAPER for them to produce larger quantities of the figure / CD..

Cave always does this with their soundtracks it seems. The only difference here is Cocoebiz decided to not bother with preorders due to the hassle. And honestly, with the Mushi soundtrack, I SHOULDN'T have bought it from Coco, as it turned out when it popped up on play-asia, it was cheaper.

Arrange mode on PS2 sounds like Black Label (judging from DOJ BL; little detail of Ibara BL announced yet).
Refresh description from Play-Asia:
"ARRANGE
This is an arranged game mode especially designed for the PlayStation2™ port with the following arrangements:
-A power shot can be carried out when the shot button is not used for some time. During a power shot, the move speed will be reduced.
-Option weapons can be changed in real time.
-Formation change of an option can also be changed arbitrarily.
-Rank gauge of difficulty is displayed during play.
-No 2-player participation during play and continues will have to start from the beginning of a level."
Now if they will just give us an option for straight up TATE, none of this TATE HOSEI retina burn, all is set.

Yes, it appears that the other five figures will be sold seperately. No word yet of when that might be.jiji wrote:According to the text, it seems that the only figure included with the set is Teresa Rose. And in the video she's the same size as the Mushi OST's bonus figure, so including more than one figure with the Ibara OST would be out of the question. I'm now wondering why they've been showing figures of all the rest of the girls. Maybe they plan to market them separately?Icarus wrote:Are they just giving away Professor Teresa figures with this OST or are they planning to release the Rose Sisters figures as well, in one big bundle? Or is this a "random selection in every box" thing?

I believe that CocoeBiz has some good chances of picking some extra stock. We'll all know how it went by tommorow morning anyways. (It'll be late in the evening for her)Icarus wrote:There is no guarantee that Play-Asia will stock the Ibara OST/figure set. Not unless someone shoots them an e-mail requesting or asking if they will some point down the line.
And even then, if the demand is high enough, they might reprint it like they did with Mushi

Hmm, from the bit that was posted earlier on it sounded like you'd be able to "condense" your shot if you held down the button, like the DonPachis...this sounds a bit more like Batrider or Bakraid.oxtsu wrote:-A power shot can be carried out when the shot button is not used for some time. yes those are definitely tate screenshots. i don't think anybody expects true low res from taito at this point.freddiebamboo wrote:I know its not exactly cast iron proof, but none of those screenshots had yoko side borders, which makes me assume this is tate-able.
And it looks like a very similar conversion to the mushi one, so I wouldn't be at all suprised at scaled graphics.

I didn't see anyone post as such, but it sounds like the dialogue goes something like this:oxtsu wrote:Jan.30, 6:00PM Japan time (another Cave web exclusive), price=Yen4095

[pre-class chatter]
[bell rings]
Lace: Class, we have a new student today.
Mushi: Hajimemashite [please welcome me favourably]. My name is Maria [long string of Spanish names] Lambourghini--
[silence]
Midi?: Teacher!
Lace: What is it?
Midi?: Can we just call her 'ass'?
I can't get an accurate translation because every time I try to load the video, it won't run

Close but not quite.
Here's my take:
Intro: "Ibara Campus!"
Title: Part 1: Arrival of Transfer Student
pre-class chatter
Teacher (Teresa): "Good Morning. Today I'm going to introduce a transfer student to you. Pow!"
Mushi: "Nice to meet you, ummm..."
chatter
Mushi: "My name is Yamada Pablo Diego Jose Franscisco Del Margarine [something] Lamborghini..."
Lace: "...so long"
"Oh, and by the way teacher, your ass is showing."
Laughter
