Hey,
Simple question, the answer might not be that simple.
Which buttons on a keyboard do what on mame... i mean, action buttons (not the F-keys, although one shutting down the sound of a game might come in handy or the "p" key pausing the game... i know about those).
For shmups one or two buttons suffice (one of them is ctrl, another one is alt and "space" has a function as well) but what about the rest?
Fighting games often have upt to five action buttons... but the docs that come with mame don't seem to list them...
Am i missing something? Does someone else know about this?
Thanks for helping out...

Well, I do have a Mame question too, as we are into this topic..
I never managed to make analog controls work properly. I use a Dualshcok controller in my PC, and I would like to use the analog sticks when the game uses an analog control device, but it never works - the controls always respond as if I was using a digital device.
Any suggestions ?

Individual games that require analog input have additional analog settings inside the Mame console. From there you can adjust sensitivity, dead zones, etc. Also, there is a modified version of Mame that further tweaks the analog feature...not sure but I believe it's called AnalogMame. Also supports dual mice...if I remember correctly.Shatterhand wrote:Well, I do have a Mame question too, as we are into this topic..

F8=increase frameskipSFKhoa wrote:"F9-F11" [?] Deals with framerate, though I don't exactly know what EACH key does.
F9=decrease frameskip
F10=throttle on/off
F11=display FPS onscreen on/off
Setting throttle to On and frameskip to 11 helps quick the process of games that take forever to load - like the old Deco Cassette games, Gradius, Taito F3 games, beatmania, etc.
