DoubleShoot -- Ikaruga-like Doujin shooter (help?)

Post by Zweihander »

So I try to download and play DoubleShoot.

And, when i start it up, it shows the loading screen for a split second, then promptly, in a Windows-like fashion, goes to this:

..any help? T_T I really want to try this game out.. and I think some of you may enjoy it too, if you like Ikaruga. It seems like a decent doujin shooter, can't say anything for certain since I can't run it just yet....

Is it a newer game? If not, did you try running in compatability mode for windows 95/98?

That error screen that you posted doesn't contain any information, you need to click on the link "To see what data this error report contains, click here" - to find out what the problem is. It may be something with your video or sound drivers. Try updating them

i have windows XP, fully updated, thoroughly. o_O and exceedingly good video/sound cards... as well as 512 RAM, and i highly doubt this game wants 1 gig of RAM...

I just downloaded it and I'm getting the same error no matter what compatiblity setting that I use. And I've got an Athlon 64 3300 with 1gb of RAM and a 128mb video card.

Since it crashes when I hit "start", I'd say that the problem is with it's lack of an installer. IMO, it's trying to find some files for starting the game, but the directory paths are wrong.

There are apps like JoyToKey you can use in these cases.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.
