Got one of these locally for $20 (woot!) and am having an odd issue with it I was hoping someone could help with.
I'm having an issue with the RGB input.
The monitor works GREAT with a Game Gear TV out board (Viletim's) which has a CXA2075 encoder and 220uf + 75ohm on each R,G,B line output. Now, when I plug any of my other RGB outputs into this monitor, the image looks great for a split second then quickly fades to almost complete black. This is what happens when I use a Sega Nomad, Sega CDX, or SNES (SNES stays a little brighter but colors are off).
I added 220uf caps to each line and this made the problem worse...
so I'm thinking it must be related to p-p voltage. The image stays synced so I doubt it has anything to do with that.
Any suggestions?

There's probably a resistance or capacitor on the sync line which shouldn't be there.
Had the exact same issue.

Thanks for the reply! What system did you use and how did you resolve it exactly?donluca wrote:There's probably a resistance or capacitor on the sync line which shouldn't be there.

I'm just plugging directly into the DIN jack of my CDX + Sega Nomad. There is no extra resistor or capacitor as far as I know unless:
a) it is built into the VGA -> BNC cable I'm using
or
b) it is inside the monitor itself
I doubt it is the cable though because that works fine with my GGTV. I'm remembering my GGTV uses 3V TTL sync though, instead of the Genesis 5V TTL Sync - perhaps this is the issue ??

Re: Sony PVM-8041Q help
You have to check the cables, there's no alternative really.
I had this problem on ALL my systems because I have put a resistor on the sync line of the SCART -> 4x BNC cable adapter (don't ask why, can't remember what was going on my mind at that time).
you have to open your cables and see if there's a capacitor or resistance somewhere.
