Hi - I have a problem with a very nice Loewe E3001 chassis consumer TV. I'm noticing a faint 'Shimmering' usally on the lighter parts of the image (I notice it most on large areas of one particular colour.)
It's difficult to describe and seemingly impossible to film but it's like a faint flickering, shimmering effect that seems to be worse when the TV's just been turned on, but settles a little after a while - but never completely. Does anyone by chance know what this might be?
Cheers...

Phosphor decay? Thats what it sounds like you are describing, anyway. Not sure what would cause it to change over time though, perhaps something related to the amplitude of the electron beam?
Do you notice it with both progressive and interlaced sources?

Sorry guys -I haven't described this too well! It's definitely not phosphor decay or the effect of an interlaced signal. It looks a little like this:

Except that the effect is much more subtle and localised to areas of white or light colours....
