Hi,
Got the chance to buy an Emotia though at a lager price than I'd like... Ideally I wanted the Super Emotia as that's the one I'd been recommended.
What are the differences between the two?
Cheers

Emotia is limited to 480p input. SE will take up to XGA (which you don't need).
The SE also got a few more controls, but nothing the controls on your display can't substitute.

I'm guessing that outputting MAME from a PC is going to be more than 480p with it coming from VGA?Fudoh wrote:Emotia is limited to 480p input. SE will take up to XGA (which you don't need).

That's up to your configuration, but for best results you need to use 480p output into the Emotia anyway.

Okay so no matter if it's the Emotia or Super Emotia it's only going to perform well with 480p? If that's the case there seems no reason not to buy the normal Emotia.Fudoh wrote:That's up to your configuration, but for best results you need to use 480p output into the Emotia anyway.
My Xbox is hooked up via a VGA cable and can Output 640x480 and 848x480 I'm guessing that both those will go through the Emotia Okay?
Also will the Emotia take 480i?
Cheers

I don't really see how widescreen resolution would do any good, when your output will be 4:3 15khz anyway.Output 640x480 and 848x480 I'm guessing that both those will go through the Emotia Okay?
And no, they do not accept 480i - only 31khz (and higher on the SE).

It might just be me but I can't get Akai Katana to look good unless I output in 848x480 from my 360 even on 4:3
Thanks for all your info! Much appreciated...
