Shmup based arcade stick art
Shmup based arcade stick art
Does anyone have any shmup, or none fighting game, custom arcade stick art? I just got a madcatz wwe brawl stick and of course I need to get rid of this awful art asap. I don't think I could focus on whatever I'm playing with the Rock and triple h staring up at me.
I have zero photoshop skills and the only stuff I can find online is fighting game themes on shoryuken.

You don't really need photoshop skills... I think all the Madcatz sticks should have blank templates up online (probably on shoryuken) that you just layer your chosen art on top of. I have 0% photoshop skills but I was able to make a custom stick:

You might actually need photoshop itself though. Not sure what programs their image file accepts. The hardest part is finding a retailer with the right color of vinyl dye, if you go that route.

Yeah I've got a template but I'm having trouble just finding images big enough to print at a decent quality.
Nice stick btw!

Rancor's site has a few great high-res posters, dunno if any of this will work on your stick though:

Thanks guys. If anyone can point me in the direction of more hi res shmup posters or images that would be cool.

There's some wallpapers for DBAC on the Taito site that you can use:

Re: Shmup based arcade stick art
i think that ancient barrage wallpaper might be the winner. now I just need to work out how to make it fit well on the template and we're off!
Re: Shmup based arcade stick art
so after messing about trying to work out how to use gimp for a while I managed to come up with this using the ancient barrage wallpaper.

which is basically just the image flipped and scaled up. I want to put the darius burst ac ex logo in the top right corner but I haven't yet worked out how to blend it in with the background.
I also made this with an image from cloudbuilt, which is a game I haven't actually played, but I like the art style a lot.

any advice or help from people who are more skilled at design and gimp / photoshop would be greatly appreciated!

This like is 5 years old but oh well. I was at PAX East on 2010 and Markman of Mad Catz saw my stick and wanted a pic for his blog i guess (he is a huge collector of arcade sticks). its a few pics into the post.

Someone please do one of a CAVE CV-1000 PCB. Or even better, a CAVE cardboard box!
