charlie chongs ways to make pink sweets fun

1.smaller hitbox
2.score based extends every million instead of this 2500 shit
3.being able to regain weapons when you die in typical raizing fashion
4.make rank go down a bit more when you die
5.allow you to actually use the rose cracker or change it for the usual raizing bomb fragment system

take out infinite lives cos thay stupid

Ibara rolls over into lower case letters (i.e. 36,000,000 is a,000,000). Not sure if Raizing games did this too.
Did someone break 36 mil? The score listed on cowboy.ikaruga.co.uk is 200k shy of that mark (though I don't know how accurate that list is).

If a Pink Sweets port is ever done, I'd like to see the infinite lives thing removed from any sort of arrange mode they might include. Best case scenario for me would be a separate arcade mode based on the first revision with separate boards.

I think Plasmo went into practice mode with full shit or something. I really don't remember. But someone did something somehow.

Extended mode has 2 loops which would allow you to break 36 mil. Theoretically this is also possible in Garegga but I doubt it's ever been done.

Ibara isn't manly. It's not really girly too much either. It's got manly dudes, and mostly staight up backgrounds, but you have lots of flowers on vehicles and flowers falling out of enemies. And the last stage is pretty girly looking, being the main base of the girls and all. But it's not like Cotton or something.

Just my 2 cents.

Step back and look at every aspect of the game. Even things you wouldn't think of as being Manly or Girly. They're overwhelmingly manly.

For those who are worried about playing games they perceive as girly, I suggest playing while sat on a motorcycle and rev the engine heartily between stages while pumping iron with your spare hand.

Some ops asked Cave about it then, before the first "revised" release, and Cave told them it wasn't a bug.
Isn't the lack of resetability in the Mushi High Score tables also a "feature"? In my technical experience, nobody ever admits their mistakes unless it's the only possible way out. In the internet world, it's amazing how things magically fix themselves.

Yeah, that's not a bug obviously, they just didn't give you an option in the dip switches to reset the scores. Espgaluda II is the same way, and was the next IKD game after Mushi.

Cave recognizes the real bugs in their games, if you ask them. Though of course they won't go around shouting the list of bugs from the tops of buildings.

Ah, I thought Mushi was the only one. Never had to reset any of the scores, thankfully.

Great contribution to the thread.

Split the slowdown discussion to its own thread.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Looks like Yagawa will be doing Arrange/BL mode for E[spgaluda]II.
I believe that answers this thread's original question.

This just made my day! Of course I would have liked to hear he was working on his own game rather than contracting on a console arrange mode, but I'll take anything at this point.

Yes he is still there, but it seems he was degraded. Same could apply to IKD. DFK was his last real game, after that he seems to do only ports and the programming of their 3D games. JJ on the other hand seems to be promoted to a director (DS+DS2)...

It was on Midnight Live. That quote was taken from the thread, which now has more bulk to it.

Yes, we know... specifically from the two posts above yours.
Same could apply to IKD.
Yeah, he's only the Chief Creative Officer. Nice downgrade... O_o
DFK was his last real game, after that he seems to do only ports and the programming of their 3D games.
At best "his" games are released a year apart... and this was when they were doing basically zero console ports. It's also very apparent he had a large part in DS:MBL (arcade).
JJ on the other hand seems to be promoted to a director (DS+DS2)...
JJ is not even an employee.

It's 2015 and we still didn't know the news of him.
Well, according to one of the thread Plasmo said that Yagawa actually leaving Cave and joined Treasure.

I hope he's making the "Ikaruga 2" game or how it was called.

It's called Ubusuna and is being made by M2, not Treasure.

Now we just need cave to let M2 handle the Ibara & Kuro double port so it will be top quality.
while they let Yagawa impliment a feature where Kuro is only unlocked once you 1cc regular Ibara

He'll be doing a job. I doubt it'll be a shooter or his own company. He's probably more relaxed... if any of his past interviews can be taken at anything like face value

...Plus I had the impression that he feels like he's already made his best shooters...

I'd love to be proven wrong.

Well, he has made the best shooters ever (garrega & Ibara).
Plus I believe he loves Majong games as well so I could see him doing those for another company... sadly.

Quote please. Did I ever say something like that?

I wouldn't be surprised, but at least I would be surprised.
