The video Valgar is talking about was attached to the end of an ISO replay tape. It's up on super-play.co.uk, if you want to see it. It clearly occured at the end of a 'bad' run, based on how many lives he goes into it with.

i have to disagree, i just got the PCB and on a good day i can 1life to stage 4 (i am by nomeans a pro or anything like that), sure i may use a bomb or two (one at 2nd boss "sidepattern", one at 3rd midboss "crazy spray", the rest at 3rd boss) but the aleged diffulculty of ketsui is very much over-rated.
4th stage is leaps and bounds away from the 2nd loop, and the 5th stage is at least twice as hard as the 4th.

So do/will sites like Play-Asia usually carry these videos or do you have to get them through a different route?

Don't know if this was reported yet, but it looks like you will be able to see the players' hands while they play on the Mushi DVD. Interesting . . .

Edit: Doesn't look like that's featured on the entire replays but just as part of a tutorial on the scoring counter or something.

Nobody's updated this thread for a while, so I figure I'll be the one to do so. On the Product Page they give a brief intro to each player, and the music arranges.

Probably old news:
Some original wallpapers are up.

Picked this up today. Nice package -- the booklet is magazine size, w/ some color. They wasted a lot of plastic on the DVD thing though, and the cover is way too horny for my taste, but oh, well.

No tate, obviously, but shows the counter only, and has notes as the person plays. At least in Maniac, which is all I've looked at thus far.

EDIT: This thing is just fucking SICK! Any idea of the misses on stage 2 and 3 are on purpose? Not something you'd expect in an Insanity DVD.

?
Truly unbelievable. There must be something that we don't know about the gameplay. The misses are after of before the mid-boss in stage 2? Btw stage 3 is a single chain, so... :?:
Maybe you can keep alive the huge hits skyrocketing after the death?

Stage 2 miss is a bit into it, stage 3 miss is at the very beginning. There's another on the stage 5 mid-boss.

FYI -- Ultra mode is not a no-miss. He misses (a lot) on the True Boss.

3 deaths? One of that during a mid-boss? It must be on purpose, but why? Please, have a look on the main counter, and watch if the skyrocket after the death is kept alive after the death.

Oh, there is a justice in the world. That TLB is probably impossible to do witjout deaths, that's all. Btw it's a pretty useless run, considering that the WR is way higher.

I only see an interview in the book w/ the designer. At first look (or hear, actually) the audio commentary is an interview w/ the player of that mode.

Has anyone else noticed that INH has a habit of showing footage in their promo videos that never makes it onto the final DVD?

Perhaps the deaths in Maniac are to control rank?

@LUNardei- how can you call the Ultra replay 'useless'? :? How many people in the world can get a score like he does, hmm? Perhaps it's not the ultimate best in the world, but who cares, it's pretty damn close. Way closer than any of us can get.

Uhm, at the beginning of stage 3 it can be. Also at the mid boss, I'm pretty sure that laser counter don't back to 0 if you die. But in stage 2? Btw it's possible

Ok, sure, but if I'm not wrong they have promised a no miss run (http://www.inhgroup.com/item/hime/ TGA-RET box, the no mistake thing). That is a good run (still on another planet for us) but not anything special. And for an appreciate DVD it's a bit sad. Oh, still great to watch, that's obvious ;)

This is certainly strange news, about no nomiss runs on the mushi DVD. I think I'll hold off for now on buying this, at least until GP can figure out what the reasoning is in the interviews.

There are rumors that Yusemi might make a dvd of his 2.6B run. There are also some interesting things Mihara said about the INH dvd. Hopefully one of the people fluent in Japanese on the board can read the 2ch threads on the matter and provide some explanation.

虫姫さまウルトラモードの『ステージ道中』及び『真アキ発狂攻撃』ノーミスクリアだ!!
That really sums it up (from Lunardei's link). Says that the stage AND True Aki are both no miss.... and they clearly aren't. Up until True Aki I believe is no miss. I'll watch the Maniac replay now w/ the commentary, as I''ve got fuck all to do for a few hours.

Child counters don't reset when dying. But rank control sounds weird, is there
even any big rank differences other than the stage 4 boss? (which seems to only be based on score, not lifetime)

What's the hiscores from the DVD?

I watched it again w/ the commentary on. I think they were both fuck-ups. The one on stage 2 looks like one... the counter is really high. The other one was at the very, very first of stage 3. An error, but didn't have a huge effect on the game apparently. The miss on the 5th stage mid-boss is to switch from S-power to W-power (there's no item there until the boss).

The interview is pretty interesting. Basically asks him what he likes about each stage, what he's doing on some parts (like keeping everything alive on stage 3), why he switches to S-power on the 4th boss, and if he's doing the A-ren or C-ren (methods in the outtakes). He does ask him at the end of stage 3 why he doesn't fast-forward through the gem counter, and he replies that he hands ache after stage 3, and he went to wash them in the restroom. :) He also is asked "why he chose to play Maniac". He said "as a student, it looked like it would be the one that required the least amount of money to practice."

At the end, he's asked what "he'll do from here". He says he's playing a bit with just M-power, messing around, and also, "playing Ibara, not suiciding, playing w/ full rank for fun".

In what game? 2.6B is not possible in any Mushi mode.
