NES hardware/game question...

Post by dave4shmups »

I own an NES top-loader, and a Retro Duo (not the handheld version). I would really like to buy the PAL NES game Elite, but I have been told that it won't work on the NES top-loader. I thought that the top-loader could play all PAL NES games? :?: The Retro Duo, I'm not sure about. But if the top-loader can play Elite, I will buy it, because it's a very highly rated port of the game.

most pal games will work on a top loader but there are a few that wont work right on an ntsc console.

super mario bros is a good example. play the pal game on an ntsc console and the time runs out too fast.

Yeah, what about the games which at least have adjusted music on PAL? Obviously these wouldn't run correctly on a NTSC console. With Elite being a late and PAL-only release chances are it's optimized as well.

That's what I've heard: http://nintendoage.com/forum/messagevie ... adid=71253 Nope, Elite won't run properly.
