What joystick was used in 80s Japan Arcades for 4-way games?

What joystick was used in 80s Japan Arcades for 4-way games?
Such as Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. It obviously wasn't a Happ 4-way joystick. Does anybody know?

Nobody knows? I would guess it's either Sanwa or Seimitsu.

No I don't think they were - I think they were just all done in house with the cabs... so nintendo? ... or at least whoever fulfilled their contract. It was the time before kits for the most part, new game = new custom machine.
I *think* one of the main points of contention are the height of the joystick afaik something like the typical stick these days is too short...
