Well, had to happen at some point - a filler episode. It wasn't bad for a throw away episode as I didn't get too bored but the drama and interpersonal interactions just weren't there; Helo/Boomer as a central underpinning to a story is woefully short of the other plotlines that have been going around. Just hoping that this episode was to move the story along and that it picks up where it left off next week.

I loved this episode, after about 2 fillers the remnent of the Cylon virus on the BG picked up the pace again..............

It's great how they recap exactly what you need to know for the current episode - I tend to forget a lot from week to week. But the series constantly drops little sub plots and seems to tie up loose ends very well..........

Next weeks episode is the finally, and even though it looks interesting, I'm already mad that someone can step onto the Galactica and take over Adama's position..........

That was an awesome display of force by the Cylons. No Basestar though, I guess they didn't want the virus to knock out a Basestar. Also, every Galactica pilot is now an ace.

I miss the preview for the season finale. I'll catch it again since the commercial will be on a lot, but is it another Battlestar shows up, with the lady as the commander? I wonder if that's the Pegasus like the original series.

Wow, what a season ender!

I love how the mood changed from jubilant when the Pegasus showed, to extremely dark when Cylon Boomer went through her ordeal and the crew members faced their trial............

Guess they cancelled their dual attack plans too now, after the fallout between Adama and the Pegasus Admiral.........can't wait to see a massive battle against the Cylons though........

But now you're making me wait until January Sci-Fi channel? Man, don't know if I can hold out........

Anyone happen to grab the season 1 DVD set yet? How are the extras?
This is still, by far, the best show on TV right now.

Yeah, something about a strong, confident woman in charge......

I know I recognize her from somewhere else, but I can't think of where it was..........pretty sure it was another sci-fi show......

Ya I can't wait till friday to see the new season.

I tried getting the first season on DVD the day after christmas with money I got. It was all sold out, I was crushed, they had tons of season 2 though. I went to a few stores in the area too. I missed almost all of season one and really want to see it.

I hope I will be able to get it soon.

Well season 2 is starting over here on SKY next Tuesday, and they're advertising it quite heavily. I've just ordered the Pilot episodes and season 1 on DVD, which will hopefully arrive before season 2 starts over here. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Saw the movie last night.
All the acting is like they are rehearsing the scenes before the actual shooting.

then the money ran out and they were like "oh.....eh...we'll have to use the rehearsal footage then"

Ceylons........ghpffffff

The movie did seem a bit lower budget than the series, but still I loved it......

I thought the current episode would be a filler aftering hearing the plotline, but boy was I wrong.......another great episode! I love how there are now several versions of six (the more Tricia the better.....) and they don't react the same to Baltar........

I can't help but see the parallels to what's currently going on here in America and the Cylon sympathizers.......more political commentary, but I think it fits in well in the series.....

That ending shocked me too.......can't wait to see what they do with that..

Well I watched the movie and season 1, and i'm truely hooked! I couldn't wait for Sky to show season 2 so I bought the DVD set for that too, and now i'm having to download the torrents of the episodes as they come out in the states.
This show is simply incredible, and i'm well and truly hooked. I've always likes Edward James Olmos, since I first saw him in Blade Runner, but now I think i'm his biggest fan. Fuck that guy rules! :P

I miss Admiral Cain. :(

You'd think with a Cylon loose among the fleet, that security and travel between ships would be much tighter, and that every bag/luggage would be checked, even if it came from the Vice President.

Another great episode, this time Mac from Predator shows up...

"I'm gonna have me some fun......I'm gonna have me some fun...."
hehehehehe

You'd think an episode with no Cylons would be boring, but they sure kept the pace just fine.....I love how characters are still very human and possess flaws, and also how many plotlines deal with real life issues that are sure to pop up in refugee situations (such as the black market). Lee Adama is really going through some changes.......is he just pissed deep down because he made a tactical mistake and had to ditch the blackbird? What exactly brought about his change of attitude?

I saw this on IGN today, I though it was cool so I though I would let you guys know. A short Havid Hayter interview, says he loves Battlestar Gallactica and some other information

http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/686/686519p1.html

I am so loving this new season. They are really getting into the characters, its great.

I am currently watching the first season box set. Man it looks good on DVD. I wish SCI-FI was in HD. I watched the Miniseries and the First episode so far, I can't believe how good this series is.

I have got to start renting the DVDs. At first I was put off because it looked like a poor attempt to "modernize" the old series (not that original series wasn't big time cheese-O) while throwing in a Seven of 9 clone. But I have watched a few recent episodes and this just might be the best new pull-no-punches sci fi show since Babylon 5. Plus, it has Ronald Moore as writer/producer. He was Deep Space 9's best writer IMHO (of course Rick Berman and Brannon Braga got jealous and kicked him off the staff since he made their repeated stories look like crap)

Just to clarify, Moore was with DS9 till the end. It was Voyager that he was driven away from.

Ah, you're right. I remember that now. He was supposed to help them wind down Voyager's "arc" (heavy use of quotation marks) According to spies, Braga got mad and held private staff meetings at his house with the writers excluding Moore (who I think actually think voluntarily left after he heard about that infantile nonsense)

I loved Babylon 5. I didn't at first, I started watching when there re-aired the series. I saw every episode. What a great show!

I loved DS9 too, espically towards the end of the series. It was great. Voyager I could take it or leave it though.

I can't wait to see the episode tonight, I am loving this show so much. It seems that a lot of people are too!

I am still wondering how come neither Starbuck nor Scar got hit during that head-on pass. Two aces shooting at each other head on and no one scored a hit?

I am wondering why this thread hasn't been responded too lately. The last two episodes were really good IMO and there were a lot of twists. Many things that I think the viewer didn't see coming.

I would like to hear what some of you thought about Lee, Baltar, the Cylons and the up-coming 2-episode season finale, and any other thoughts you guys have about the series.

I personally can't wait, I just finished watching season 1 on DVD and I can say I have never been more into a TV series than this. It is so well done and its something I can now not miss.

I am at work now, its 12:30, and all I can do is think about Battlestar. I am reading about the series on the net, on the sci-fi boards, I listened to all the podcasts during the past 2 weeks while I was working. I am really looking forward to tonight.

So who else here can't wait. I think tonights episode will be one the best in the series so far. Then we have the long wait till season 3. I have a feeling it won't an easy wait either.

Season 2

Post by DEL »

They did a Season 2 Part 1 number on the DVD release  - The first 10 episodes out of a total 20. Another money-spinner, like they did with Lost Season 1 Part 1 in the UK.
I had to download Season 2 episodes 11-20.

Nice 'sitting-ducks' finale!

Now the long wait...

I've only seen parts of the show here and there, but it should be a great show for shmuppers.

In fact, BG has some good shmup material.
