I have 2 old CRT monitors that I really want to hook up to stuff. I have a NEC multisync 3pg (which I guess is like the nec xm29). The back of it looks like this: http://www.mp3car.com/attachments/class ... n-back.jpg
Here is what I do know: it looks like it has bnc, vga, and svideo inputs. Problem is, I dont have anything with those outputs! Please help me to hook up all my stuff to this. Most important is my video game systems. I have a nes, sega genesis, retron duo, sega dreamcast, n64, ps1, ps2, and gamecube.
The back of the genesis looks like this: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/stonebr ... .jpeg.html
I also have a dvd player that outputs component cables.
I am so confused. Do I need scart cables? If so, which ones, and what adapters/converters/switches/etc.. do I need???? Do I want sync or which type of sync does the cables/adapters/converters/switches I get need? Could someone lay out what I need to buy? I tried buying some svideo cables from a local store to hook up to the retron duo, but they didn't work.
I've spent about 20 hours reading about this cable stuff, but I just get more and more confused. Is there anything out there that just says "get this, this, and this"???? Please help a newbie out! If I could even just get one system up and running that would be great. I then could at least play something while I research this stuff. Right now I am without any gaming!
Edit: fixed urls. Thanks BuckoA51 & HydrogLox

Have you tried switching the monitors to the S-video input line? I don't understand why S-video wouldn't work if there's a port for it.

I did find a cable for snes/n64/gamecube. I ordered it. hopefully it will work!
For NES and genesis it seems that I'd need to mod the system to get svideo support. If I am going to mod the system, shouldn't I mod it for RGB instead? Is there any way to hook it up without mod'ing them?

None of your pictures work for me. I would suggest if you want the easiest solution a BNC to SCART adapter is what you want. https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/son ... verter-bnc

i.e. use BBCode url tags to ensure that your overlong URLs don't get clobbered.

You probably need a scart to BNC adapter with a LM1881 sync stripper built into it for the NEC

Thank you all so much! my bad on the images.
If I order the female scart to bnc cable how do my systems plug into it? I have nothing that outputs scart. Any help with that? What cables/converters/adapters do I need to plug my systems into the female scart to bnc cable?
In regards to sync, I am seeing people recommend sync strike to remove remove the sync. http://arcadeforge.net/Scaler-and-Strik ... e::15.html It has Female Scart RGB input and vga output. The NEC accepts VGA input, so this may be a good choice. I am thinking if I got this I would be in the same boat as if I got the female scart to bnc cable. Meaning: no matter what, I need my systems to output scart!

You can just get this cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/Male-RGB-Euro-S ... 2ee33efcaa and not have to worry about the sync strike which uses an extra power supply. Also then you can save the dsub plug for VGA use.
Then all you need is scart cables for your systems, plug them in and you are good to go.

Cool. I've ordered that and got a few scart cables for my systems from ebay. I'll try to update when all this stuff arrives! Thanks for your help!
Update: worked like a charm.
