Hi,
I hope someone can help. I brought a Sony BVM-2011P CRT Monitor this weekend, huge thing from the 90's. When I picked it up the guy I brought it from set it and to show me it was working. I got it home and initially I got a picture out of it, but I wanted to play about with control panel settings and now it just looks like a badly tuned picture like on an old dial tune TV just before you get the picture right. I have downloaded the manual but that didn't help.
I'm hoping this is just a settings issue, I don't think I could fry any of the circuits just from messing with the control panel; could I?
Could anyone help me? The monitor is currently at my girlfriends in London, anyone know of anyone who services fixes these things in or near London?
Thanks

Sounds like sync is off somehow. What's connected to your BVM?

Re: Sony BVM-2011P CRT Monitor Problems
That is my suspicion too, but I'm not too technical with old CRT's... Currently just to test I've only got the video lead of the composite out of a Dreamcast in there, but initially it was working with just that cable. I'm not getting a scart for the Dreamcast as I have a Hanzo 480p VGA box arriving soon that I'm going to break the component RGB out of. This is just a test until then, but I'm concerned that I've fried something.
Though my gut tells me that someone with experience with BVM's would sort this in 5mins if they were here. It's just finding someone who knows about these things..

Try changing the sync setting from int. to ext.
