No Ibara cabs in this place Skykid?!
No Yagawa/Raizing at all, although if they were there I'm confident they would be adored. Chris did mention when I raised the subject that the idea of suiciding doesn't agree with them.

The Cave and general shmup line up is dreamworthy though. From recollection I think it may even top HEY in Akiba.
Back in 2013, when the 1st season of our STG League tournament chose Battle Garegga as one of the competition titles, Raizing games actually gained some recognition among younger shmuppers. And some teams are racing to the 2nd loop of Shippun Mahou Daisakusen right now in the second round of Season 2.

Interesting, when it comes to contests, nobody would like to choose CAVE games. Facing those old scoring monsters can be quite terrifying for newcomers.

Yeah, I agree.

IIRC, It's generally chalked up to the lack of arcade culture, which is better for practicing regularly and sharing game knowledge. So yeah, environment.

Well, Strikers 1945 was one of the most popular games in Chinese arcades. Is that RNG enough for you?
Actually,I think the WL of the DOJ is also RNG enough, especially the 2nd loop, the theory score can be 2.2bil for WL but now there are many super players reached the 900mil of 1st loop but still can’t perfect on 2nd loop
There‘s a specific example the first form of 2-2boss of the WL was actually RNG if you want to maintain maximum(using 1 hyper to kill it),another RNG point is the 2-4,the last 8 dougaku is nightmare beacuse of the RNG...
The DOJ WL is another game between DoDonPachi...That's my point of view...
I think Skykid's saying about is DOJ WL,there's some difference between DoDonPachi...
About RNG shmups, maybe ketsui is an example...

2-4 boss in ketsui is rng incarnate

i think he meant more stuff like touhou where some patterns are really random

Of course I remember! You told me your forum name. Was nice to meet you. If you hadn't told me about Iconoclast's recent WL score I wouldn't have checked that scoreboard.

Hope to see you again in future. :o

I wonder if these superplayers who can score in the 900mil range on first loop do the trick to full chain the 1-3 stage, like WFL: https://youtu.be/dObo-7CbvWY?t=6m48s

You probably need to. I've seen several Japanese streamers using or practicing that route recently.

That video isn't an optimal first loop yet either though. There's one rather big trick not used there. It's possible to use a 2x hyper for the 1-4 boss and double the stage end bonus. To do that without killing the boss too early, you have to time out the entire first phase. It's a silly strategy, but SPS has been getting over 920mil in the first loop with it.

Do you know if HFD and fufufu did those tricks for their respective WR?
BTW, on which website do you watch Japanese streamers?

This is the live stream from the Matmouse arcade in Japan. SPS is actually currently streaming right now.

Just an update to say I wasn't pretending about the article covering Shanghai's STG players: it's actually been finished and submitted for some time. However, because of E3 it's sensibly being held it back. Arcade/Hardcore Gaming related stuff not only struggles to find an audience as it is, but is completely at odds with E3 and will be drowned in the coverage bombarding the front page.

I don't have a prospective publishing date, but I guess it will just be when E3 calms down. Will let you know when it does appear.
