I find all the psikyo's difficult, but dragon blaze really is an unforgiving bastard.

Never spent too much time with the strikers series though.

my vote for dragon blaze. between having to use the dragon shot for scoring well, and the incredible allure and pain in the assness of the tech shots, it wins easily.
I have no sig whatsoever.

For me, all of them as I'm terrible at Psikyo's games, but out of the list I voted for Dragon Blaze as well.

When I first played Dragon Blaze, I wasn't yet used to Psikyo games and it seemed like one of the hardest games I'd ever played. But I realize now I was dead wrong. DB is not that hard in the earlier stages, though I suspect that 1-6 is very, very hard, judging by how few in the high-score thread have gotten beyond 1-6.

I can get to 1-5 in DB, but I STILL haven't gotten to 1-5 in Gunbird 2. So I vote for Gunbird 2.

I also had to vote for Gunbird 2, although I have yet to play Dragon Blaze (PS2 copy is on its way and should arrive in about 2 weeks).

Dragon Blaze by a long shot.

I think Strikers 1999 is one of the easiest.

It makes me feel better about my complete lack of skill when a bunch of people comment on how hard a game is that I suck badly at.

Not a whole lot better, but still better all the same. :)

Oh yeah, I vote Dragon Blaze too. :)

In terms of playtime, Strikers II was easier for me to 1cc. I've played way more III than I should have so without really thinking about it, I can get through the 1st loop. In II, I have to actually think - and I still usually don't do it because I have not played it much.

Strikers 1 beats me down. Strikers Plus beats me down harder. But I love em both.

Gunbird 2 for me. That game is damn difficult, even on Easy setting  . I've only gotten to the final boss like 3 times since I've had it.

First round - Dragon Blaze
Second round - Gunbird 2, because the suicide bullets from the drones are damn fast.

Gunbird 2. Dragon Blaze seems a lot harder than it is at first, but when you make sure and take out large enemies quickly it isn't so bad.

dragon blaze is more difficult for me due to the unique system amongst other things. with almost any other shmup i can usuallyy get somewhere as i've played so much gunbird and strikers. dragon blaze demands good use of close range and the dragon throw thingy and i can't really figure out how to play effectively. great game though.

I'd say Gunbird 2 is more difficult. Just haven't gotten as far in the game. The close range attack in dragon blaze drops enemies quick and can be used more frequently than close range in gunbird 2. The charge shot in dragon blaze seems to be a better substitute for bombing than the charge shot in gunbird 2. Coin chains seem to be as tricky to do as the close range attacks to trigger coins. But the second form of the level 6 boss in dragon blaze is impossible to me. Regardless both games are tough.

I voted for Gunbird 2, but IMO they're all pretty darn difficult once you get to the last couple rounds of the first loop. It's not just a matter of memorizing the patterns, either -- even if you know them you have to have blazing fast reactions to get to the 2nd loop of most Psikyo titles.

Yeah, I think there's probably no way I'd ever clear the first loop of any of these games. Maybe if I devoted my life to it. But even then, quite possibly not.

My vote for gunbird 2. Dragon blaze have the hardest second loop on psikyo games. But gunbird is hard in all stages. 1-4 boos on gunbird, have the same difficult than the mid boss at 1-7 on dragon blaze.
I was almost vote for "others", Batle K-Road is harder than gunbird

If you mean the second midboss I see what you're talking about, that thing is just move left, move right. If you mean the first midboss, the dragonfly thing, I have no idea unless Sonia trivializes that.

Also GB2 1-4 is EZ. If you activate the rotating turrets at the right time you won't get walled.

I can start a duplicate thread with a working poll if anyone wants btw

The thing with Gunbird 2 is that it has really uneven difficulty and lightning fast bullets that are easy to dodge once you memorize them but hell until you figure out the trick behind the pattern. Dragon Blaze is more difficult in the end, but it has a better difficulty curve and dodging fast patterns is usually a punishment for not doing things right like in good Psikyo games, instead of something the game forces you to dodge as in GB2 or Strikers 1945 II.

Strikers 1999 is one of the easiest Psikyo games IMO.
