I didn't like all the story elements. It was pretty annoying.

I didn't care about "Dark Elves" or whatever. Let's just get to some platforming, dammit.

I disagree. It's the only truly compelling story and setting in the entire Rockman mythos, and establishes that the final eradication of Sigma was a Pyrrhic victory at best. The Zero games all naturally flow into each other and follow up on each previous entry while gradually uncovering the backstory, in a way no other Rockman series can match.

No, Rockman 6's story where you expected Wily to say something like "I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for that robotic kid and his dog" was the only compelling story in the series. ;)

Zero's setting had quite a bit of atmosphere, and the characters were fairly likable. Zero's "robot Clint Eastwood" persona was great.

I would just prefer little to no story, in a game like this. Old fashioned, I guess.

Joking aside, while I don't mind story in MM, I agree that MM doesn't need one and I'm actually fine with the hilariously Scooby Doo-ish Dr. Wily in bad costume story of MM6.
