Anyway many of the good things about the EU are being put into question, maybe because we were too innocent/confident about ourselves and the world and we let the 'dream' die, idk, but in about a couple of years many things will have changed, drastically I believe.

@Ed; at the current exchange rate paying in USD doesn't cost me much really, for small-average amounts when the rates are okay I like to pay people in their home currency, just like that. ^^
At least I'm doing it while it's possible, the Euro still being a thing.

I love statues, figures, toys, DOLLS--whatever you want to call them. I get home from a shit day at work where I'm surrounded by idiots and the first things I see are PVC beauties that instantly remind me of the movie, game, book, etc. that they come from, filling me with instant gratification and cherished memories! Seems like lately though that so much of the toy/figure market is all shit that doesn't even look like characters and mostly resemble pure "toys" in little trinkets and knicknacks. These are typically marketed towards adults, so I don't really get how prevalent these things are in the market. Stuff like Nendoroid, Mini-mates, Funko Pop, and even the retro designed stuff flood everywhere I see. All these Big Trouble in Little China figures finally come out and they're just straight leg, small replaceable toys that look like bargain bin leftovers. I want a Lo Pan or a Jack Burton that looks like Lo Pan and Jack Burton, not a silly caricature, goddammit. So much effort wasted on these little shits when there's a severe INJUSTICE to accuracy. FOOLS.

I am starting to hate and loathe mystery boxes and the way Youtubers now have to sell them like they're audible or Netflix accounts.

I went computer shopping Saturday. I found what I felt was the perfect computer for $600 with 15% tax. Beneath the floor model were two of that computer in boxes. Beyond the showroom is a warehouse full of computers. I lugged the box up to the front desk to pay for it.

Oh that computer is online only. What? It had its own display and everything. So I asked the clerk can I just pay for it paypal, then take it home? No, because the website is different from their store. Funny thing is... that's their main location they operate out of. Beyond the showroom is their real warehouse that everything gets shipped out of.

The facility is so close to me when I order 5 - 7 day ground shipping it comes that day with its mailing address / return address being the address that I was standing at in their store. I've bought computers from them for 10 years. I know where it comes from, but if the website is different, sure, fine whatever.

So I ordered on Saturday. I paid. I didn't expect the order to be processed until Monday. Now Monday's work day has come and gone. My order still hasn't shown up on their website like it normally does and my Paypal payment is still "pending." Now I'm on hold long enough to write this, but its after business hours, so I'm surprised their customer service is even open.

Generally high quality though [assuming you didn't get ripped off with a bootleg], good build quality and detail, that sort of thing.
Funko Pop and Mini-mates look like total shit though, low detail, poorly stylized. Not something I'd want to own, let alone display.

Happens a lot when images initially show up as URLs and get loaded one-by-one later, pushing everything around. Sometimes textboxes can load later than the rest of the page as well. It's incredibly frustrating when you thought it's finished loading and an ad sliiiiiiiides right underneath your cursor

Well after a week of waiting, I've received notice that its been shipped. No not from the store / warehouse that I had it, but rather from 3 time zones away.

It annoys me that I had the computer in my hands. Their physical store had a display for it and had two all boxed up underneath the display with more in their warehouse behind their storefront. Then they sell me one from 3 time zones away.

I'm tempted to go to that store and see if they still have them under the display. What's even more retarded is I've bought from this local company for the past 12 years. To my knowledge they only had just this warehouse, even if they have more store locations now in our area. I didn't know they had warehouses elsewhere. I buy from them because they are local, even if they sell nationally.

I know a guy who used to work at PC World in the UK. He was told to always go for the up-sell. In some cases when the customer was intent on buying what they want, and not falling for the up-sell, he'd go to get them their laptop or w/e from storage only to be ordered by the manager to go back out and lie: "sorry, we're out of stock."
Apparently it got to the point where he'd go and hide in the back room if someone he knew entered the store.

I'd like to be annoyed with health insurance again, thanks.

My wife had surgery on 4/1, which of course resulted in a huge bill. First off, she spent the night in the hospital and was discharged 30 or so hours after she was admitted. That's good, right.. b/c insurance covers things better when they are "in patient" procedures. Well, I'm now finding out that you can stay in the hospital overnight and still have the operation considered as "outpatient". Ugh..

Second, the cost of the surgery was immediately enough to push the family over the maximum out of pocket for the year, based on our health insurance. Good right..? Well, despite many phone calls, the surgeon wouldn't issue the damn bill, so the insurance company didn't receive it until 6/17. So basically every penny we spent on doctors or prescriptions between 4/1 and 6/17 was just thrown away. The max out of pocket doesn't kick in until the insurance company processes the bill. It's even more irritating that the surgeon was out of network (so we pay 100%), but I've already bitched about that in this thread.
