Question about NESRGB Systems

Post by wake_me »

I purchased one about a year ago and I love it. Hooked up to an xrgb mini it is amazing. What I am wondering is this. If or when the system the kit is in fails, is it possible to transfer the rgb kit into a new system?

Of course it is, but you will likely be able to repair the system as well. NES's are relatively easy systems, compared to those of today, at least.

Jason from Gametech did a really good video on how to get the Nes working again when it stops working without needing anything expensive like a scope.

In order to play around with it though and swap chips like he does you really need a good desoldering tool so you can quicly socket the chips you think might be bad.

thats if you get into it that far. Many times its something simple like a blown capacitor or a bad 7805 or a bad power supply.
