So I got a great deal on a complete copy of this at an auction yesterday. It was listed as non-working, but upon inspection it looked like there had been an issue with the monitor. The board was in like new condition, and had obviously never been moved since it was installed in 92. I assumed they had thrown it in the repairs room and never got around to replacing the monitor.
Well I got it home today and am having issues with the board. Initially I got nothing. No sound, no picture, just rolling black noise. I removed all the socketed chips, cleaned the legs, and cleaned the board. Changed the super capacitor and CR 2032.
Now I have a rolling picture. Everything is working as I can hear and tell the game is playing. There is just no vertical sync. I'm testing on both a pvm and an xrgb mini. Mini gets no signal, but the picture rolls on the pvm. There don't seem to be any scratched traces or anything visually wrong with the board. Flexing the boars lightly changes the rate at which the picture rolls, but no stable image.
I'm open to any suggestions on trying to fix this. I can also provide pictures if anyone wants to take a look at it.
Thanks!
Sean

i assume is just a sync issue that you can solve with the H-hold or V-hold pot.
I recently sold a Moonwalker and the buyer had the exact same probem.
Good luck

Just to be clear, you mean the pots of the board or monitor. I don't see any on the board, but I may have to look closer.
Thanks

It has nothing to do with the game.
You must dial those pots directly in the monitor chassis or remote chassis boards, depends on the model.

I'm not using an arcade monitor. Its definitely an issue with the game. The PVM says it isn't detecting sync.

Here's a few shots of what I'm getting. I get the more clear shot when I turn external sync off.

I just saw you thread at Otaku and other members are saying the exact same thing.
It obviously can be PCB related, but i still think it could be just a sync proble, can you try another monitor and play with the sync/hold settings?
Do you have a regular crt TV? Normally i find them more "tolerant" with this kind of stuff...

Ive tried multiple broadcast monitors, via sync strike into an X-Capture 1, as well as a cabinet running an E-Swat board. Doesn't sync on any of them.
