Goddamit, someone YTPMV'd my Ibara/Garegga N163 Arrange again. And it's hilariously good.

A couple of releases happened to come out last week.
Varied Balance, a remix companion to my album Balance. Featuring a bunch of great remixes even including Zander One, aspect. and Hiroshi Watanabe.
https://omchaki.bandcamp.com/album/varied-balance

The other release is a digital/Cd release called Start of an Ending.
A minimal Deep Dub Techno album through the soundscapes of a spaceflight mission gone horribly wrong. Cd version includes a very cool early kompakt style remix from Coppice Halifax.

The arrangement sounds very natural. Do you use Famitracker? The YTPMV is great, lol. The douchey-looking guy spinning all around gets a good laugh from me.

For constructive purposes, I think in the future you should have a little more range variety in the synths - most of them seem to fall in the middle range - play around with volumes and octaves and that should fix things up. Don't take that the wrong way though, because I really liked the melody work in this piece.

Tasty  It's kinda weird, but the backing sounds good. Like I said in my comment it reminded me a lot of what you'd hear in the Lisa OST.

Finished a major work project (and am now between jobs ha) so that means a little more time for music. These are all fairly short (because of my short attention span?) so as not to bore the listener!

Strange Dungeons ~ Into the Deep
I was inspired by PCE-CD and Sega-CD soundtracks to make this dance-y type track. I'm very happy with how it turned out; it has a nice "retro" feel, thanks to using a lot of older synth sounds in it.

FM YM2612 Music IS APPROACHING FAST!

The Return of Arthur
-I had in mind a sidescrolling platformer where King Arthur returns to future England to free it from the evil parliament in London, ha. One of my better FM songs in my opinion.

There's No Waiting for the Horizon
-My take on Ys-styled/Falcom-esque music. Short and sweet!

Club DeVille
-THE HYPEST GENESIS RAVE YOU'LL EVER LISTEN TO, SERIOUSLY. I've had this one on and off in WIP for what seems almost like 2 years. Now you can jam out hardcore to gritty synth!

I dig the arrangement. It's certainly an interesting choice; I don't think many go to the intro theme when looking for SNATCHER tracks to arrange. Was the piano played out on a MIDI device or inserted via the DAW? Either way, I think you did a good job on this.

Thanks for asking! The intro theme always struck me as a really good tone-setter, so I guess it stuck in my mind.

There's actually no piano! All I used were the different pick-up settings on my acoustic guitar, and an FM synth for the basslines. The drums are samples played via MIDI keyboard.

Ha, that's not the first time I confused a guitar for piano.

What keyboard do you use? I've always thought of buying myself an Axiom midi controller, but I was never sure if it would help with my workflow. Plus I don't know if I'd have room for such a thing at this juncture.

Currently, I use a Roland A-500PRO for all my MIDI needs (http://www.rolandcorp.com.au/products/a-500pro/). So far it's been a solid, reliable controller with more than enough knobs and sliders for synth tweaking and automation stuff. If you're worried about space, there's the A-300 PRO, which has all the same features but only 32 keys. Just big enough to comfortably sit in your lap.

I'd definitely recommend picking up a MIDI controller, though. It really helps to have the ability to just turn to my right and sketch out an idea on the keys. It helps to ground myself musically, too - kinda forces me to actually think about what I'm doing from a theory perspective. Not to mention stuff like key velocity lets you add a bit of the "human touch." At the very least, it beats the hell out of using my keyboard or drawing stuff in with the mouse!

You could probably tone down the distortion a bit; there also seems to be some sort of audio glitch at the end when you loop the track. With a little bit of polish you can probably swing it from a "really bad" Lenny Kravitz to a "really decent" Lenny Kravitz! :P

Here's another YM2612/SN76489A Genesis track. This takes some inspiration from Tenpei Sato's work on the XZR/Exile games, but is not quite the same:
A Nomad's Tale

I think it's one of the better FM tracks I've made.

Yeah, it is a little slow. I'm kind of rusty/getting old.

I didn't really have a good ending for it so I just threw that effect on the end to finish it off. Lazy and impatient.

Cool stuff. Sounds really authentic. Desert stage music for sure. Would fit right into a Toaplan game.

A musical piece put together quickly while sampling my TX81Z for later use on Renoise. I feel I can get this down in a week or 2.

Found this when looking through some old crap in my computer.
A song i did for a game that sadly never happened.
Would have recorded everything with live instruments for the finalized version.

Thanks!
I remember it being a lot of fun writing it. The first part of the stage was supposed to be kind of moody (flying through dark clouds etc.) so i figured to go for something a bit athmospheric.
The second part is for the stage section (futuristic city), with the high energy part (guitarrzzzz) for the midboss.
Definitely gonna score an entire game sometime in my life. Probably when my programming skills are good enough to make something myself.

Hello all im new here  . Recently made a song with a few toaplan samples in. I use reason 4 and some apple headphones at the moment, I used to have some krk 6's but needless to say not any more. Here is the link ☺http://www84.zippyshare.com/v/BPQdoJvx/file.html
And by the way Eaglet I like that song that was never used reminds me of proper old skool arcadey goodness when that guitar breaks in

Mainly hearing the Batsugun samples in that track, Zombi. Nice.
