Sync Strike+Pexhdcap x AV distrubition amplifier = Headache

I am having some issues and i am hoping that someone could help me.
The setup i am using is a SNES min, sync strike, pexhdcap and a Keene av distribution amplifier and here is when the confusion starts.
Right so if i plug my scart directly into the sync strike that goes into the pexcap i get a picture but when i try putting it through the scart distributor i get no signal.
I have been scratching my head over this all day, would the sync strike need external power for this setup to work? and if so how would i achieve that with the psu that arcadeforge sent me as there is no where on the device for it to be plugged in.
